Solaris/CC5 question.....

Post by RP_001 »

Hi,

Im playing around with the CC5 device, and im trying to use it to control Solaris. Is it possible to assign my Cutoff knob from my virus c to the cutoff freqs of filter page 1, page 2, page 3, and page 4 simultaneously??

I've read the manual and watched the video on spaceF's website, but i didnt succeed so far. Ive managed to control 2 filter freq. in different pages simultaneously but not all 4 of them.

Any suggestions?

cheers

Normally, moving the fader sends the CCs that are active (ie, they must not be off).
To assign several CCs can be simply impossible if all of them are sent at the same time. The destination control will choose one of them or will change all the time, making selection tedious. In this case, the less annoying and quickest way is to sent each CC one by one.

So the procedure:
1 - decide what CC numbers will be sent and type the numbers in the adequate field
2 - put all CC "curves" to Off (under the CC "vu" of CC5)
3 - Put curve of CC to Exp or Log and move the fader to send this CC to the destination control.
4 - Put this CC curve to Off when done, and repeat steps 3+4 on each other CC.

That way it is clearer to see what CC are sent. You can also connect a midi monitor at CC5 outputs to see what is sent.

You could also directly double click the destination CC number in the destination device midi control list (select control, press blue square, scroll to desired CC, double click).
For this, it is better that this dest device receives no midi (CC) at all.

I hope it helps.

Thanks for your reply spaceF !

I think i now know how it works :) I did some reading and experimenting again yesterday and everything works fine now i guess. I assume you can only use one CC5 for one controller right?! Because now i loaded already nine of them to control Solaris, and it will take a little time to assign all of my virus C buttons/knobs , but so far so good......

There is 1source CC number per CC5, yes.
