LOGIC
Subject: Logic
Thanks for the tips. i am getting into it (slowly) and it does seem a lot more solid. Only I have a huge latency with the EASI drivers but I didn't have time to get into changing the settings yesterday (what are the optimum ULLI settings?)
One other thing, have you had any luck using the 'Time Machine' function with imported loops. It doesn't seem to work for me I keep getting the message 'your audio card doesn't support this function' is there any hope of using it, as I would find this very useful.

Subject: Forget EASI, use ASIO
Guys
Forget EASI!! Somewhere along the line emagic lost their way with it, and if they can't get it right, what hope does creamware have?
Since the Logic audio engine is now optimized for ASIO (and ASIO2) use these drivers.
There's no advantage to EASI. Anyone who wants to run audio mixing on the Pulsar needs professional help. Mixing doesnt exactly take much CPU, and transferring it to the Pulsar will no doubt increase the stress on the PCI bus.

Subject: Logic's Great just one problem
I have been using LOGIC for 2 days now and it's great. I have one little problem that I would like to stamp out. That is some clicking distortion in recorded audio that goes away after messing about with some of the settings in the audio devices and hardware menu.
I don't really know what I am doing but I switched from ASIO to no device then back to ASIO, relaunch, and this got rid of the noise. Then it happened again so I messed around checking and unchecking boxes in a very random manner and it calmed down and dissapeared. My point is, does anyone know what boxes to check and the settings to make to get clear audio no distortion or could there be something else wrong with my setup.

I'm about to make a switch from Cubase VST to Logic Platinum. Has anyone got a basic startup project & starting environment in Logic on file that I could use to save a bit of time getting started? As well as any tips obvious things/obstacles I should look out for. I am not very technically minded. I can see another month of frustration on the horizon!

Logic is great with Pulsar. I'm NOT a fan of Cubase! The basic startup project can be used with a few changes. For more Midi connections, go to the enviroment page. Select new multi-instrument. Drag it to the enviroment window. Name it. Go to the left panel. Select the desired Pulsar Midi I/O. Then back to the multi, and click on each midi channel. That allows them to be used. You can name instruments later, as you get up to speed.
ASIO or EASI both work fine Go to the audio options and select which one you want. Go to Pulsar and drag in the EASI or ASIO I/O modules.
Tip: for playing .wav loop files, dont put the audio into Logic. Use the .wav player (downloadable here)in Pulsar, and make a midi trigger track in Logic. It takes the load off logic, and things run smoother.
It's a solid system. Very few bugs.

Ropbot,
Pulsar is a routing program and a sound processor, but it does no audio recording. That is for Logic. Signal travels from Pulsar to Logic via ASIO dest modules and back to Pulsar via ASIO source modules. Here is a link to see some of the ways the Big mixer can be set-up: http://www.musicalica.de/tutorials/engl ... index.html

Thanks for the tip, I think you misunderstood me though, I did not want to use Pulsar for recording, but you gave the right answer though. thanks.
how does the whole ASIO/Pulsar routing thing compare on Logic vs. Cubase?
Any comments on advantages/disadvantages of one program vs. the other when utilizing Pulsar?

for myself (i´m trying to migrate to more logical areas) the most usefull thing in the web would be an environment for using pulsar with logic.
i tried to make something work with that ominous multithing and i got it (yeah!) work.
now i can use all 16 channels of each port. (a great step forward compared to yesterday
for synths and on...
but... there are still many things which seem strange to me (i´m coming from a cakewalk), so many things (yes, explained in the manual... haha.) with which i can´t get together with my dsp-card... <i><b>(curious english, i know, but excuse me, people, i´m from germany... here all people speak such a horrible language
</b></i>
