Gray Days - Minimal tech (atmospheric 808 vibe..)

Post by maky325 »

Leaving gray days behind, i am heading to the Spring Equinox 8) Gray Days - smooth 808 vibe with almost dark and gray atmo..
This song is very minimalistic in terms of instruments but arrangement also. I am still learning scope inside out so what i am doing is that i am trying to limit myself when doing songs. That way i am trying to learn/reach for best what instrument can give me. Then i am moving on to the next. So basically what you can hear is coming from just two device. STS 5000(drums,strings,bassline,everything), one Modular, few stock patches delivered on old creamware CD and one Masterverb classic. This is sort of STS 5000 demo since 97% of sounds are comming from this sampler

Scope is beautiful platform and every day i see something new. You will have to go on this page since i dont have place to host this properly, just click on "Download File"after page is loaded. Again sorry for this...

Really nice.

With all of the nice tracks I've heard here lately I will have have to work extra hard to make sure I have a quality mix before I post again.

What did you use for the atmospheric sounds?

Hi! Thanks guys :D For 95% sounds i used Creamware CD which is delivered with my scope card. I dont have access to project at the moment but i do remember that one patch is called OB on that CD and i like it a lot!! (by nature of sound and name i believe it is oberheim) . Some sounds are under heavy STS filtering and modulation and that is all :)

I enjoyed it in a hypnotic sort of way. It was warm & deep and I loved the crisp hi hats too.
