aarggh you got an OASYS PCI!. is it still win98 only?
i would love to have one if it worked in XP, i think its better then the big "oasys"

Yes, Oasys still only is Win 98 which works, but is a bit buggie.
But it is clearly a gem, fantastic fx and synths - and, though underpowered, makes quite a lot of its 4 dsps. For a good (though not as brillant) XP thing, i think Ikaron 2 would be fine.

For the Oasis, i will build myself a Mac G4 System with OS 9.2 to run it, together with an 8 DSP-Creamware System for mixing and a Samplecell 2 as, well, sampler

. Then the now-free and abandonend Opcode Vision Sequencer and the also abandonend but mighty Sonicworks for Audio, and i have a nearly vst-free stable dream setup for 700 € (which probably costed 10 times more when the cards came out), can´t be beaten soundwise and can do anything

I have three Oasys PCI cards. I bought two 1u servers called ITOX Dragons on Ebay for about $60.00 , I put in dc power supplies and installed a software fanspeed control. These are dedicated to the Oasys cards running windows 98 and they are extremely quiet, they look very cool . I have 9 adat inputs and outputs which allow me to feed my main daw with external synths . One oasys is dedicated to 4 stereo efx, the second is dedicated to synths. The third is a spare. I tried installing pulsar 1s in the same box but found that Oasys became unstable with both boards in the same computer . I recommend separate dedicated boxes. Creamware under XP is quite solid with infrequent crashes most often not requiring restart

Pick up Harm Vissers bundle of phsycial modelled synths for the Oasys. They are fantastic. He reduced the cost down to 170.00 and they are a steal at that price. I did sound design work for him in exchange for his models as well as some work with a fellow names Norzes.

THREE ? Well, this shows how good they indeed are....i don´t now any synth platform which can do that much, and sounds as good. Did you get these stable ? I tried installing oOasys and Creamware together on Win98, but it crashed from time to time when playing while changing programs. Not really bad, and Scope works well on 98, but i heard they are more stable on MacOS so i will go that route.

I have very stable operations under windows98 on dedicated machines. I also had them installed in various macs over the years with similar results NOte: You can only install one oasys in a machine at a time, dsp is very limited with the synths but they are very good and worth even the limited polyphony.
