Sonic Core : who? what?

Post by rebornonline »

OK, i'm not exactly an active member of the community, so I don't know what's going on. :(

Is there any links/posts explaining what's happened/happening to Creamware? The site seems to go to a "Sonic Core" site :-?

Thanks guys,

Griff

I'm sure if you do a search on the forum you'll find plenty of info.
Basically Creamware is no more, but several former Creamware people created Sonic Core and bought the rights to the Scope system.
So for all intents and purposes, Sonic Core is the new Creamware.

the distillate of the creamware, thats soniccore.
:D
or to decribe it in another way:

(1) take some decent and sympathetic old school cw members
(2) add some modern sharc dsp chips
(3) an open ear to the community,
(4) extreme audio dsp knowledge, gained over a long time
(5) the power to take things to the next level

-> shake this a bit

and there you got it the soniccore cocktail....
very hot, or should I say: cool....

cheers.. :D

I also meant it literally, as on their very first appearance in Franfurt > 1 year ago they promised to have an open ear to their customers and things that (unquestionably) went wrong at Creamware should never happen again...
One year later they have fulfilled a lot of those ambitions, considering the size of the company. 8)

cheers, Tom

What's in a name? I will state my own feelings on this - I miss the name Creamware. I will always miss the name Creamware. I don't understand why the name had to die. I suspect EGO's involved as is always the case with business. It couldn't just be - here - take the name and run with it and good luck to you. No, could never be that easy. Years of marketing and promotion flushed down the toilet due to greed, indifference and EGO.

On the other hand, I applaud Sonic Core. If I was there I would take them all out for Warsteiners and Herforder Pils (my personal favorite). We would go to the Treffpunkt in Hessich Oldendorf or the Nautica in Rinteln and drink until we fall down which is not a problem because we drink, we fall down, no problem. :-)

The Creamware name had to much association with administration (liquidation), so it was prudent to change that. However, most people who don't own Scope still know it as Pulsar - i think the Pulsar name should have been used more.

Also, the insolvency requires the name goes away - it cannot be used again in the exact way...so, the first time they went through the insolvency, the official company name went from Creamware to Creamware Audio, so apparently just adding the word 'Audio' was sufficiently different for the courts. But also, the first time, it was still the same owner, and he wanted to continue the name.
This second insolvency, there was an interest to break from the past name, since there are other owners involved now, and they wanted to establish a new reputation as well. (The original owner had also established a new company the year before, called 'inDSP', so he decided to continue using this name.)
