Has anyone ever encountered "cannot load sample" when using the Sampleoscillator in modular? We seem to be having issues these days with such manuvers, It also effect RD modules that load .wav files. anyone???

SampleOscillator loading issue......

I think the sample osc won't load samples if the samples have 'header' information in them. If you can open the file in something like Soundforge and see if you can save it without such info that might help. There are some samples that ship with SFP (C:\SFP\Samples) - try loading those just to see if the problem affects all samples, or just the ones your using.
Good luck,
Ben

I have the same issue with RD Drums.. If I open an 808 preset the samples are not loaded. If I drag and drop them from scope's file browser it happens the same, but if I "open" them from the RD module they load correctly.DAM wrote:This problem also is happening with John Bowen's RD modules as well. John and I have been trying to figure this one out. I'll check the sample headers but the RD modules won't load samples they are meant to load and those are the samples I'm using. small 808 kit stuff.
ohhh... A mystery!!!
I presume that SFP (4.5 in my case) is not looking for the samples where it's told to (c:\sfp\samples\808)
I have a library of large wav files in 16 bit made from the D50 synthesizer that load up perfectly everytime for me and use them live w/o incident.
I do have random freezes w/ the larger Kyma wav's that were converted from 24bit to 16bit in Gigstudios editor.
Send me an email address via PM if you would like to try these.
I only use them in Prowave and Solaris synths though, never Modular.
The D50 presets are mixed w/ BWalkers JD800's and have never caused me any grief but rather some very great presets like " Underwater Pyramids ", and w/ MCCY's awesome Flu-Liq device, I can make Bowen synths seem like underwater submersible's in search of long gone civilizations.
Since JBowen has incorporated this w/ a 32MB capability in his hardware synth, he knows more about this than any of us.
Bowen synths seem to care not on their size either. Which I really like, especially since many of the loop points are hideously apparent, I prefer longer one shots.
I was told that the GigaEditor has an excellent convert to wav feature. The 24bit Kyma waveforms work well, but when both slots are filled with MB size converted wav's, I occasionally get a freeze. That sucks live, but it won't stop a recording into VDAT, or Cubase. I simply have to remove the synth, and reload it.

I haven't been able to load samples in SampleOscillator for a long time either. I've stopped sampling in Scope entirely -- it's too buggy.
I hope Sonic Core works on their sampler line once Xite is out.
