Hi,

I was playing w my PC configuration yesterday and tried to install a dual boot system, one with ACPI Multiprocessing and one one ACPI Standard mode.

Well, lemme tell ya, that don't work :wink:

Next time I won't have that again and I'll keep the file on a diskette. Cos it is no fun not being able to boot your computer without format and reïnstall. this is not the first time it happens, but it sure will be the last.

ok someone sent me the hal.dll. Now it asks for more files. Geez. And me thinking I was safe with a dual boot config. What we've learned today? Dual boot configs from inside one installation do only change settings, not drivers. :oops:

Hoi,

just to let you know the problem's solved, a friendly helper's sent me the 2nd file. Luckily there weren't 20 files :wink:

I found a way to do a pretty reliable "dual boot". Use 2 discs. Have windows on each c-drive. Yes each C-drive. You install one hard drive. Then you pluck it out and install the other one. Now you can pluck the first one back in. An in BIOS you can choose, wich OS (HD) to boot from.

The dual cpu are needed when doing audio. Not when surfing the web. Too much of a hassle for me, I'm back to one boot. Easy work and confort gained over power to me.
