What about the Jerry Springer show?

Post by Nestor »

I’m interested to know what people think about the Jerry Springer show in America.

Do many people like this show, why? There is a lot of people whatching the show every time or is it wathced by a segment of the population only? What the nation as a whole think about the program? Well… anything like that that could give me an insite about the level of aceptation the show has in the US.

JS? man that's some time ago...it's something from the long past, isn't it?
the show was partly set up to create fake eruptions, and he was accused of having had sex with some of the (ridiculized) female candidates he had in his show.

That show is obscene. I don't think I have ever watched another worst display of human depravity.

This is what I wanted to hear Bingo: “worst display of human depravity” or similar words, thought by Americans themselves, because it is hard for me to believe this repulsive show could have a large support, as I have read about.

I just came across some psychological studies about rating and TV, and wanted to know how people reacted in America with this show so to understand it better.

Is the show still on?

The studies I’m doing right now are in relation to TV and violence.

Cheers

Just a little background on Jerry Springer the man. He was one of the most brilliant and fastest rising politicians in the United States. He may have even become president one day but he was brought down by a sex scandal. He made the mistake of paying for a prostitute by check.

the producers hire the participants(usually people who are very poor and like the new clothes) and encourage them to act silly. the show can be as fascinating as a fatal car wreck....

I'd rather say they act like Jerry Springer when they start trolling, and we are the silly people on the stage getting mad and answering them :D

Yea… I know, he does it well as a job… but there are murderers out there too, that do it very well. This just doesn’t mean it is a positive thing.

I understand the show, but I don’t agree about using people to get rich yourself, and then call it “help”. The show as far as I know and am learning, started sort of a way to give support to the citizens, but then became more and more popular thanks to the sarcasm used on it, as well as the violence.

I am 100% convinced that watching violence helps violent people to become more violent over the years. It is a fact. I may get some pleasure at watching some beatching acts now and there, then laugh about how people behave and about how they can be so extremely ignorant and naïf, but common, this is cruelty.

I cannot agree with something that harms people’s minds, particularly children…

Agreed Nestor.

The spin-off show with the security guard idiot that wants to fight with his guests is even more ridiculous..

Yeah, the bottom line is that it's the quality of influence that's the issue with TV shows that are this bad.
