You know what, after I buy this next card, I don't think I will ever buy anything from them again. I just want the ability for it to work under Vista and the 3 more DSP chips. They totally have lost my loyalty.

You can have my type one cards if you pay what I paid for them which is $1,700 and by the way they perform horribly. Be prepared for your computer to bomb every 10 minutes if you go above 60% DSP load.

:D Nothing in the dsp / pc card world holds its value.. I payed 150€ for my p1 with minimax and 4.0 and 360 for my p2 with poison/lightwave and 4.0.soooooo i think your price is just a notch to high;) I could get almost 2 pro cards for that.
Oh and i think i have type 1 cards only aswell p1 is from 2000 and p2 from 2001, they run flawless here.10 masterverbs,no bluescreens..can load em up till the red dsp meter indicator and work for hours including controller/ midi clock etc.

Then maybe you bought them after they fixed them. I didn't hear of a recall and don't expect one from them as you know if not many people have a problem, to them it doesn't exist. The S/PDIF didn't work at all for me and several other people and when you write to support they simply didn't answer.

Good for you. You are lucky. That was not my experience. I got screwed. I know about clean computers. I build my own computers and can assure you I put in Creamware first. You are full of it. Dell computers come loaded with bullsh*t. You ought to know that.

You are not even qualified to talk about computers if you use Dell computers!

Dunno if i got"lucky" i got this pc as second machine..i run scope only over adat and midi..no other apps are on that pc..its a clean install without all that dell stuff.
You may just buy a 8300 for a really good price second hand and try it yourself?I really really doubt that something on the creamware/sc side is wrong in your setup.Dunno why but for me the system has been flawless for years.May just buy a used dell..cheaper then a 5.0 upgrade and worth a shot imo.

Forget it. I can see that you are way newer to this forum than I am. I have tried these cards on three different motherboards. This isn't user error so please just forget this ok? I'm trying to be nice. You just don't understand the situation so don't assume you do.

Official Microsoft XP Service Pack 3 is released few week back (to already pretty stable and mature XP). If this is not support for you then i am not sure who can help you defining support

So?

"I have tried these cards on three different motherboards. This isn't user error so please just forget this ok?"

Oh.. ok.. I'm sure we're all happy to finally have an oracle that thinks he knows everything..

"I'm trying to be nice. You just don't understand the situation so don't assume you do.
It makes me feel bad that my first post on this board has to be a direct criticism of a fellow user - but you just seem to be so profoundly rude, pointless, and counter productive - I for one really wish you would go away.

I am searching for actual information on these boards, but keep having to wade through your endless, thread ruining rants that really seem to have very little point other than you expressing your general dissatisfaction of everything creamware, and now SC... much less any bearing on the topic. You wine.. you complain.. you waste all of our time - and for what, exactly?

I really couldn't care about your personal calculations of the value, cost, or relative merits of this new offering... your complaints about licensing policies.. and on and on...

One of the things I notice most about you is your need to tell other people, as in this post, about the superiority of your views over theirs - that seems to point rather directly to flaws in your personality - not theirs... you know - all the "I build my own computers" (which apparently don't work) so don't think for a minute you might know something I don't.. and such...

To give you a taste of your own medicine - speaking as a professional who has been entrusted over the years with purchasing millions of dollars of (actual) workstations, (real) operating systems, studio gear, and hiring the engineers to maintain it all - I have to say you sound like a naive, frustrated, idiot - the kind of guy I never hire - the one that comes in with a giant chip on his shoulder, and if hired, produces disaster after disaster through blind overconfidence and manifest incompetence.

Very seriously, please go away and seek some counseling. For everyone else - is it better just to ignore him? Am I missing something? Does he ever contribute anything?

Oh - and before you start - I am not arguing with you just because "I hate you." I'm not arguing with you at all, and won't. I don't hate you, or even care about you one iota either way. I am just asking you to stop wasting our time.

To call me an idiot merely is a reflection on your own immaturity. There is no need to attack people you do not agree with. The thread is about the SPF 5. To call it expensive or overpriced is a fair criticism no matter what you think of it.

Man you read fast for having one braincell - perhaps I should have stuck to the sort of passive aggressive didacticism you prefer, rather than simply offering you my honest opinion.

Braincell - how do you do it dude? By this I mean how do you manage to be so negative so persistently and so consistently? It must take a lot of effort and cause you a lot of stress. I'm not sure what you get out of it, but from what I can see it doesn't seem to be achieving anything?
