unless they do not publish hi-res pics from the rear panel we can only guess. from what I reckon to see on the small pic I would say no.
(and even if, I could not see whether it's noisy or not :) )

the existing press pics even look like the front panel was labelled later with an image manipulation program.

so there's still a lot to do until start of musikmesse...

no problem here :) a baby xite is also fine with me. i didn't impose anything what you should buy. beside you're older scope user than me. and you know sfp better than me.

I love Scope but I would never buy Xite-1 because it is simply out of my price range, and I don't need that kind of performance.
its also out of my price range. i got only $1500 for a scope pro but i'll work hard and earn the rest of money for xite-1... i really do need that performance. i have mix pack,bx, Kompressor,analyzer,P100,Prodyssey,all Dynatube,SPL Attacker,Transient Designer, Orbitone Vorb,B-2003... and i want to run them all in single project + will buy few synth also....

xite-1 shouldn't compare with ferrari. scope pro is 1.798,00 EUR
incl. 19 % Tax . and xite-1 is 2698 EUR excl. VAT ( or 3210 EUR including 19% Tax) and lot of ppl here paid more than that for buying 3 pro cards....

don't misunderstand me. i was one of them who cried a lot for HUGE dsp card.... your idea is also fine.

yes. and those were the first to say "I will buy that immediately" because they have the need for it, and they can afford it.
that's great for both, them and SC. demand fore more power, and a product to fulfill it.

and lets not forget, now that the scope stuff is running on a new chip,
SC can esasily scale the power to a higher level also.

I mean its called XITE-1, now there is no technical reason, why they couldn`t release new and even more powerful hardware in the future if the plug-ins need it.

chip prices normally drop through the time.

whereas very old chip designs like the sharc on the old scope cards may even raised in price due to economical reasons.

So I am pretty sure through time the scope pro cards will be taken out of their offers and be replaced. maybe with a cost effective cheaper to manufactured 1-chip design that has twice the power of a scope pro-card or soemthing similar like that.

lets see :D

Scope will never die ! :D

Congratulations Sonic Core. This is absolutely remarkable news!

I've got lots of questions regarding the compatibility. I take it that you'll be releasing a new sdk for this?

best regards,

Shroomz,

to me it seems logical that if the new hardware is compatibale to the old plug-ins, the "old" SDK4.0 should also work for the new platform.

But a new sdk would shurely be great: maybe: with new features....

hahaha , speculation makes so much fun! :D

Probably the smartest thing to do, if SC wanted to make a lower-end model of Scope Xite-1, would be to make a PCI-E only version -- no hardware box. It'd be much cheaper, could cascade with the hardware box, and would be more of a direct upgrade to the existing PCI cards. They should've done that to start off with, and call the two products something like "Scope Live" and "Scope Studio." :D Then everybody's happy.

16 notes as usual with most Scope Synth Plug-in ...
The question is more how many 16-notes MINIMAX instances you can run on the XITE-1 !!!

New Sonic Core device

Post by musurgio »

I would like to add my comments here.
Based on what I do I see no real advantage of having this device instead of 3 Pro cards.
That is because three cards can give me 48 adat channels plus 6 spdif plus 6 XLR at least !
This device has only 16 adat channels which are NOT enouph for a serious production where external devices ,, converters are to be used along...
So I would prefer a 3 set of adat ports and the equivalent of three Pro cards regarding dsp power.which is way enouph for any serious production!!!
That would lower the cost.
I would not pay more that 1300-1500 E for a device like this and at that price there would be many buyers to support it .
I hope that I am wrong but I am not seeing many buying this product.
My 2 cents.
Regards,
Dimitrios

OK guys, this is just XITE-1.

Let's imagine there could be XITE-2, XITE-3 ... and what these could be (more powerfull, different interfaces, low cost models).

Ideal team would be SOLARIS for main synths and XITE-1 for modular synth and mixing. Would be a dream for me ...

No, let's just get down on the whole thing. It won't sell, S|C has no future, no combination of ins and outs will ever be right.

Let's keep being negative.
