I just searched Manually thru the Scope Install disc - no CrossCev.dII

it must be an extension that is created during the install process.

I do not imagine it is very big - if anyone feels up to it, has CrossDev.dII in their extensions folder, and is will to email it to me - here is the address:

emann1@berkshire.rr.com

I appreciate it very much!

best wishes

the answer is the problem forum itself.
You are an almost unique poster here... ;-)
Scope was and is ultra ultra stable on my G4/733.
When I'm at home again (after midnight-holland) I will look for the files you need in the systemfolder.
I can send them to you if they're small enough for regular email :-)
Astro must be right, you can copy the disk content to your harddisk.

Greetngs hibird

I got it to work! found CrossDev.dII, placed it in extensions folder, installation completed itself, Scope opens up just like the old days, now it is just a matter o corting out OMS but I have had to do that a lot so I anticipate no problems...as I recall the OMS folder hould go in the System folder - correct?

Very cool to hear ypou are runing Scope on a G4 733 that gives me heart

thanks!

great you solved it :-)
I use also a mac G4 MDD with OSX btw, and that's the one Astroman suspects to have problems.
cheers,
huub

edit: sorry, forgot to say the Opcode folder with thje 'OMS applications' folder should be on de disk which contains the system folder.
The 'OMS folder', which should also contain the Creamware OMS driver, should be in your systemfolder.

---------------------------------

In exensions folder (systemfolder):
- alloc
- CrossDev.dll
- Creamware audio driver

In preferences folder:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (never had to care about this file manually, it's just always there after installing).

In OMS folder:
- Creamware OMS driver

copy these files when everything seems to work :-)

Hubird thank you immensely, most of the Scope package is restored and working.

What I am seeking to restore now is the Mix and Master Pack that I purchased with the Scope card....so far no responses at all from Sonic Core, the merchant that I purchased rom is no longer a Creamware dealership. Do you have any suggestions? I assume to add or open the Mix and Master FX there must be something similar to allket.sfk?

I installed the entore package on a different CD long ago, so the Mix and Master stuff must be within those folders, although I do not know which folder. I asume perhaps if I knew what was what I could drap the Mix/Master stuff into the new folders (?)

as always thanks in advance, I appreciate your help

Ed, it doesn't matter where you installed it - there is only one keyfile, that's why it's called allkeys
so if you pruchased M&M together with the card, then you should already have those keys installed (together with the basic software)

cheers, Tom
...also glad you got it working :D

Hi Tom

thanks for your reply and input

I wish it were true, but after loading my allkeys file I do not have Optimaster, the graphic EQ, Masterverb, etc

But I did have them before this debacle - which means that they probably exist in the Creamware folder that I dragged and dropped to another HD...

Sonic Core may as well be non-existant when it comes to servicing this software....anyway I am going to compare folder by folder what ois there oin this recent reinstall and the old totally installed (but dragged and dropped) and then manually transfer some files

thanks again for your input

you know all of this stuff is on the Download page at Sonic Core - it downloads but in 3 (so far) 3 other formats than the usual .dev format.

Anyone know how to de/recode this stuff into usable data?

thanks~~again

oxe files go in the oxe folder. when you restart scope anything in the oxe folder will be installed.

and if this doesn't help, you can ask Mr. Unbeatable-Ralf Bach of SC to create a new allkeys file, including everything you're entitled to.
rb [at] soniccore.de is the address if I'm right :-)

it's still unclear after all what went wrong with your installation, isn't it?

good news - I finally got a response from Sonice Core - Ralf Bach, he sent me a new key called Scope.rgy that has all my software keys and it ll seems to be working fine. Apparently the .oxe files are free to use, which is wonderful. Evidently anything called allkeys is out of date (my own conclusion) if one is doing a reinstall.

Note for anyone in my position - the only way I was able to get Ralf's attention was to register as a new user- then I got immediate email response, FWIIW.

Thanks to all who took time to contribute to this, I appreciate your input and help

it's just a text file in the end.
what's in there will be there always.

thanks hubird - fwiiw that was not my experience. My allkeys file had a minimal setup only - the scope.rgy file Ralf sent had everything that I purchased. I do not know why. But I am glad Ralf is there. You too - thanks

that's because you didn't update that file after you got separately the keys for your new purchases which you've probably lost then.
that's about the only scenario I can imagine :-)

the wierd part is this is not the 1st time, I have had to do a reinstall 2X and in previous ones the allkeys restored everything - but last one was 2 years ago

anyway, not to argue, I appreciate your help hubird and I am on a newer path of 4 backups of the scope.rgy file on 4 differerent flash mem cards in 4 differernt places which I recommend to anyone as there are no more creamware personal webpages with all of your info there

really cool that there are all these ,oxe files to use

:-)
I wasn't of any help to my feeling, as I still don't know what went wrong and what possibly helped...
