Little question to one of the italian Z members

Dear italian friends,

I have to speak a little italian text in our newest theater production. My italian knowledges are very poor.
Could somebody help me?
The original german text:
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren! Herzlich willkommen in Wien, der Hauptstadt der Musik. Wir begruessen Sie zum Internationalen Chorwettbewerb "Let the people sing".
A raw english translation could sound similar as:
Dear ladies and gentlemen! We give you a heart-felt welcome to Vienna, the capital of the music. We greet you to the international choral competition "Let the people sing".
How can I say this in Italian?
Any help would be fine.

i dont' knwo german so i will attain to english translation.
more or less you can say:

Signori e signore! Vi diamo un caldo benvenuto a Vienna, la capitale della musica. Vi invitiamo alla gara corale internazionale "Let the people sing"

i'm not sure about the effectiveness to translate "Let the people sing". it sounds more or less "Che le persone cantino", but i don't think that the actual name of an event should be translated to foreign language, or at least, an "official" tranlation should be provided by the organizers...

"Che le persone cantino" is not a "good" name for an event, according to me!

Dear ladies and gentlemen! We give you a heart-felt welcome to Vienna, the capital of the music. We greet you to the international choral competition "Let the people sing".

Don't know a word of german, so if I understood correctly:

"Gentili signore e signori! Vi diamo un sentito benvenuto a Vienna, la capitale della musica. Vi invitiamo alla competizione internazionale di musica corale "Let the people sing".

Note:

1) I assumed "greet to" means "invite", "choral competition" stands for "choral *music* competition", right?

2) "Let the people sing" may be translated as:

a) "Facciamo cantare la gente" or
b) "Lasciamo cantare la gente" or
c) "Che la gente canti"

depending on which is more suitable for what you intend:
a) Make (force) people (to) sing
b) Permit (feel free) the people to sing
c) imperative, "people, do sing!"
