I wouldn't trust any Behringer that I didn't hear myself... ;) :D
if you want something like that to supply headphone mixes to performing musicians, it may do the job - but may even be a little expensive - oops, street price is only 111 Euro, forget about the 'expensive'

if you want one for mastering, too - I'd split them up.
A cheapo multi-channel for the musos, a good stereo for the engineer
the Lake People stuff has been mentioned as very good, but I never heard one myself.

as a sidenote: I need a replacement for my cans and picked up an AKG 530 (a consumer product) today, as it really did sound pretty good compared to a 271, a 240 etc.
well, plugged it in at home into the NAD 1020 which is connected as monitor driver to my Pulsars... OMG what a piece of sh*t - incredible, that's probably the sound you experience when you don't wash your ears for half a year or more :P
They use such bright and harsh audio examples in the shop, that you simply cannot distinguish the cans, so a proper amp can make a huge difference ...

cheers, Tom

I use this one quite happily - not as cheap, though.

I had one of the Pro-XL's so GaryB and I could work together in a Hotel Suite w/o interupting the other occupants.

I think he would agree also that this particular HA is a serious " Pedazo de Mierda "...........Not very good. The Samson mixer I had as backup was used instead. Besides, when I play I do not have to hear what I'm playing to perform. Of course it takes out all of the fun, but sometimes you gotta wing it.

When it comes to audio, you usually get what you pay for.

I've had decent results with fairly cheap Presonus headphone amps.

I absolutely cannot recommend anything of this type by Behringer or ART (probably even worse than Behringer).

Lima, I haven't checked out that particular headphone amp, but behringer made a lot of rack gear with pcb mounted pots which weren't bolted to the front panel. Don't know if they still do that, but it's worth checking out because pots not bolted to panel = poor build quality.

I can personally recommend the Rane Mojo MH4 which is about 10 years old now, but it's a great little headphone amp which can be found 2nd hand for as little as 40-50 euro. Original price was £350 (over 500 euro). :)

Wow! What a fast response! :-)
First thanks a lot to everyone!
My needs are both listen (4 people at the same time) and mixing\mastering, so the way Tom mentioned should be the best for me, but I'm low on budget :-(
so I'm going to bought a single amplifier.
I've checked the amplifiers you suggest, but the shops I know don't sell them.

Do you have any shop (in Europe possibly) to suggest?
(or any second-hand sell\buy internet site to check )

The shops I know sell also the following amplifiers:
PRESONUS HP4
http://www.presonus.com/products/Detail ... oductId=20

SM PRO AUDIO HP4V
http://www.smproaudio.com/index.php?opt ... view&id=38

Are theese better or it's "the same soup" ?

I also wonder what SM gear is like - Australian company, no? Anyone use their gear?

I don't trust SM stuff, all I heard on SM gear was no better than your average soundblaster card.
I know behringer is not being liked by many, but if you are on a short budget and don't need road and gig build quality, the analog stuff is useable. This one is absolutely ok to feed the audio back to the recording artist(s). It's not for mastering, tho. Any mixer desk does have its own headphone out, which is what should be used for mastering purpose after all.
I used to have a Grapevine Headamp 4, which is a rather decent unit - build and sound qualitywise. But that's all I could say. Features and output power, the behringer wins with a large step ahead at half the price.
Last but not least: the behringer suffers from a design flaw: the transformer inside is too close to the PCB, on the right side of the case. So, Output 1 to the left is the cleanest sound, but output 4 on the right side is full of hum, hardly useable for sensitive people. I planned to rip the transformer out and put it into some external case, the unit should be fine then. Without that, only 2-3 of the outputs are acceptable.
