quick SCP 5 wishes..

Post by moxi »

- a little Undu buton, just for faster handling (I know none action is destructive, but there is some unused area on the nav bar, so..

- a snashot mode that handle different cabling config (same devices but with different cabling, so you won't be obliged to load-reload all a projekt or spend time on spaghetti cooking)

- the same for presets inside devices (same devices but just with snapshots of different parameters, could be really usefull to quickly compare two parameters set, or combined with the above mode, to compare result with different plugz)

- being abble to rename the in/out hardware and software modules

- adding of the preset name on synth/effect on the module when the device control surface is closed, and also on the top of the device CS when this one is open

- a new version of the multiFX devices where all plugs would be opened side to side with one click (hum the snapshot function allow that, but with such a container, it will be possible to move all devices as one

- a "love" knob... I still have to think about it's final purpose...

ok...so it's why such options don't already exist...

so thanks, I won't get any regret if such features are not implemented in next update.. :)

Edit: that's right for cabling, but for parameters, all is real time, so,
as well as you get enough DSPs, you can load the two devices you want to compare, then play with bypass or mute...

that make me think that my MIDIbox allow to send message called "meta-event" (exemple: two MIDI CCs at the same time with one buton push).. so what I want for comparaison is already possible!

each day I learn..thanks ...

we know they can put this stuff on a smaller and faster chip like the CME keyboard addon appears to only use 1 DSP chip. its very small.

1: series of PCIE4 card with 10(home) 25(project) and (however many you can fit on 1 card) ultimate.
maybe the big card with 50-100 chips could be as powerful as 1000 sharcs and take anything you can throw at it. (ill have a 16 osc, 16 voice poly supersaw with individual filters and modulation for each of the 16 saws in the 16 voices thanks :) )
card says "ok no problem 10% of DSP is used now"

2:l. 2 RAM slots on the card. maybe DDR2 SODIMMs (like a laptop)
you could put [1,2 or 4 gigs or whatever sharks children can address] in there for cheap, its low enough profile that the ram can slot in above the DSP chips and still leave plenty of air for adjacent cards.

samples and delay effects use it. there is no question of using PC RAM for samples and time based effects.

3: better sampler. they work fine but are not fun or very usable at all. they seem like a "bring the pain from a hardware sampler on to your screen" model rather than a "use the sound of a hardware sampler with easy GUI possible on a computer" the sampler section could be awesome rather than an afterthought.
"read acid and REX" plz! nom nom nom!

thats my 0.02 S|C dollahs.

Yes we need talking cards. Not just english though, the
language should be chosen, or have subtitles!

my wishes for sfp5 or a future release:

-new highclass filtermodules for modular and for sdk in form of atoms.
-interpolated oscillators for modular and sdk as well
-a 2048 samples WAVE-file to "wavetable dsp atom" converter
-a new interpolated WAV oscillator atom (for loading 2048 sample loops of real oscillators) for sdk and modular with a better pitching algo, or maybe doing some sort of precalculation and storing the results in some sort of oscillator file.

that would be awesome....

I hope they update the Prodyssey finally to bring into line with the ASB version (i.e. additional filter options) and it would be great if it could have a proper duophonic mode..

I would like them to fix copy/paste so I can paste keys instead of having to write them

I would like to be able to insert Modular effects into mixer slots.

Improved WDM and GSIF2 drivers are a must.

I would also like to see VDAT record stereo files finally and for them to fix the many bugs it has.

A patch mutator like on the Nord Modular G2 would be very cool.

Graintable oscs and some decent granular and additive modules for Modular (Modular 4 also - at least fix the bugs in Modular 3)

Also a step/phrase sequencer and midi file player is a must for me.

I hope to get a noise reduction plug in with Adaptive noise reduction.

A new stable sts-sampler with more possibilities to import (kontakt or giga files) and disk streaming would be my biggest wish.

More support and features for the developpers of plugins! I can imagine there are some things like disk-recording and, as mentioned already, wave tables are things SDK developpers & users would benifit from big time!!

What _are_ the top "wants" from the developpers ???

My wishes:

Support for Novation SL devices
Support for my Mackie BabyHUI
A Perl or Python API so you could automate things in Scope

And while we're dreaming - Linux and MacOS support :-)
And a cheap Cardbus to PCI converter too!

well, I'm not entitled to speak for them but most certainly you can convince SC by a 5000 cards preorder with a 50% deposit due on signing the contract.
as a special early supporter bonus you may choose your favourite DSP from the AD's palette of Sharc devices :D

cheers, Tom
...without a vintage transformer fully balanced dual tube output stage it's all rubbish anyway :P
