ASIO error

Post by Alex K. »

Hi Everyone
in first i would say Merry Christmas and Happy New 2008 to Sonic Core /PlanteZ Community.
I adore being 'into' it and i would like to get the maximum power from it, then i need to ask to someone who knows it better then me.
I'm always had Asio problems running Logic audio 5 and Scope SFP both (simoultanley i mean), and i would to know if anyone knows some trick to reduce at least this kind of trouble, cause sometime is very frustrating :-(

Cheers

again Merry Christmas
Alex K.

There is an option to disable the ASIO overload message.

This error is generated within Logic and doesn't have much to do with Creamware's ASIO drivers. Rather it has to do with Logic's ability to process data and deliver it to the ASIO buffers. When it's unable to deliver the data in time an ASIO Overload message is displayed. I find that even under low cpu loads (according to task manager and Logic's cpu meter) you'll get this message. I've also found that I rarely get the message on an Xp installation that has been tweaked to remove as many background processes & services as possible (including disabling of screensaver and 'power saving' features, also make sure the power saving profile is set to Always On as it will affect how modern Intel & Amd cpu's attempt to conserve power by micromanaging idle cpu cycles).

cntrl-alt-del
processes tab
find logic.exe or similar
right click
choose set priority and "above normal"

should be good.
