We’ve gone through 12 earthquakes in 4 days!

Post by Nestor »

It is pretty scary, we now live in a 4th floor here in Santiago, and so you can feel every nuance of earth movements, which are softer if you live down, close to the ground.
A mayor earthquake has caused extreme damage recently in the north of the country. Unfortunately, about 6000 people have lost their homes… The few houses still standing, “must” be demolished as they are now a sure trap, because of the many replications that come afterwards. What is fortunate, nevertheless, is that it happened during the day, if something so BIG would had happened at night we would be speaking, not of some scrambled buildings and houses, but thousands of dead people within them!
In 1985 the 5th region, where Santiago is located with its almost 7 million people now, hundreds of earthquakes preceded an enormous one that destroyed part of the city. That is why it is scary, because we are going through a similar series of earth monuments like in those days. Let it hope that nothing bad happens here.

The experience:
The first one was the biggest of them all! Our bodies were kind of dancing forcefully to the strange rhythm of the earth… A superb noise would come from all directions; it would sound sort of a big globe of water moving through the city, with the addition of particular things like windows and doors cracking. Being in the 4th floor, you don’t think about running away downstairs, it could be worse. What we did is to stay in the strongest point of the building, under the concrete column that supports the structure, just in case.
Other than those difficult movements, fortunately, nothing was broken and we receved no harm.
Well, I thought it would be interesting to let you know
Cheers

Thank you friends! :)

Well... what really pisses me off, is the fact that this is a poor country, and all these people in the north are one of the poorest of Chile... To loose their homes means something truly tragic. It is extremely sad to see them cry saying always the same thing: "I have worked hard to have this little house, my cooker, my bed, and everything is now gone. ¿Do I have the time to start all over again?" This is the worst...

I'll keep you informed... as long as I keep alive (black humour?)

Quake of 6.8 magnitude hit New Zealand yesterday, had everyone in Gisborne heading for the hills. Both sides of the Pacific it seems.

Hope that's the worst it gets, Nestor.

I don’t know… if we see the whole panorama around the world, something of a big magnitude is going on under the earth, as we life here, up in the surface. Tsunamis, earthquakes, old volcanoes getting active, our earth looks like a pressure cooker to me, and the fire is way too high, so vapor must be released somehow and someway…

What is amazing is that Chile frees 47% of the earth energy created on the freatic layers. Have you paid attention to this amazing numbers? 47% of energy release in such a small territory! No wander experts are waiting for a big one to come sooner or later, because this energy must be released from time to time, which is more and less, 60 to 100 years...

Right now, we are talking about “many” earthquakes in a row, hundreds if you count them all through the country from “Arica” to “Punta Arenas”, then in between them there was that one that destroyed a whole population, very unfortunately.

Nevertheless as I’m telling, for scientists and earthquake experts alike, these ones are very small ones. When they talk about energy release, they don’t measure an earthquake by the number of victims but rather, by the energy their systems show has been released.
To their point of view, all of them are but small earthquakes and have nothing to do with what it should come to balance the extreme energy contained down there.

They are waiting for a different dweller, like the one that visited Chile the 21th and 22th of May of 1960, THE “biggest” earthquake ever registered in mankind history.

I used to go to a supermarket close to my home when I lived in the south region of the country where this enormous earthquake happened. One day somebody told me that the place I was standing on, in front of the supermarket, has opened itself. I mean, the ground opened itself and a woman was swallowed by it, then the fissure quickly closed back while her husband tried desperately to open the concrete of the street to rescue her, which was of course, useless. The only thing the poor man got was her right arm that continued grasping his hand…

This is the kind of earthquake that scientists are waiting for: extreme movements that let unbelievable amounts of boiling stones and pressure energy to be freed to the surface. It is like a big vomit from earth, the indigestion is there, but you never know exactly when the vomit will come out, that’s the problem.

In their theory so, we still have about 12 years left to enter the danger time area, but…

For those that can read Spanish, here you have a link with some of what happened:

Just in case you cannot read, this is amazing! I will translate this small paragraph for you:
“The earthquake had a magnitude of 9.5 Richter with 37 epicenter locations, 3 tsunamis at the same time, and lasted for 10 minutes…! The earthquake was so big, that the expansion wave riched Japan, and killed many people in the Californian costs of USA”

Nestor,

You should move. I don't know why people insist on living in such places and then, when it is destroyed, they build there again! Incredible. I've heard some victims say that it can't be helped because natural disasters happen everywhere. I disagree. A disaster is much more likely in certain places. If you live near fault lines, the coast or in tornado alley, you are asking for trouble. Of course we should help these people but only if they agree to relocate to a safer place. No way should the government or any other organization help them to rebuild in the same place and these places should be returned to nature. There is plenty of safe land on the earth and if we run out of land, a mandatory one child per couple policy should be implemented with severe financial penalties for violations.

Nature is not to blame for this. People are to blame.

*Expensive earthquake-proof buildings are possible in some areas but these have not been tested in the most severe earthquakes so I am a bit skeptical about them.

I find it interesting that people are motivated to help in such large scale disasters but if you are the only one affected, there will be no help. For instance, if a fire burns down 1,000 homes, the government and relief agencies will step in to help but if 1,000 homes burn down in many different cities scattered around a large area, then there will be no help for these people. It's because of the media. That's the way the news works. It has to be big to make national and international news. The number of people affected is not relevant unless they all live in the same place. It's like these mass murders. Plenty more people are murdered individually but they don't count because they didn't happen in the same place.

I don't consider the one child per family at all hateful. You would rather see millions starve?

Actually socialism is good. We would have no public schools today if we were just starting out because the republicans would call it evil socialism. It's just like how they are trying to stop national health care. They are desperate about this because they know once we have it, it will be here to stay because most people want and need it.

people always want to give their power to the all seeing eye, the authority who knows all and sees all. republicans are pushing this policy just like democrats are, they are both funded by the same sources that are looking to enslave humans. these "ideas" you speak of are all Rockefellor and Bill and Melinda Gates foundation inspired. there are no food shortages, only greed.

these are the same eugenics principles from guys like Thomas Malthus(the force behind the british "poor houses" in the 1700s that a person typically lived less than 6 months after being placed there because the poor house would work a person to death), that were perfected as ideas in the early 1910s, which Hitler himself in "Mein Kampf" said were the cheif inspiration of the ethnic cleansing policies of the 3rd Riech. congratulations.

I'm not a big fan of Microsoft but I have heard nothing but good things about the Gates charity. I'm not buying your conspiracy theory until I see evidence from a more credible source.

how would you recognize a "reliable" source?

read "Mein Kampf" and tell me that Hitler doesn't mention his inspiration from American Eugenics. read Thomas Malthus an Carroll Quigley's "tragedy and Hope". tell me that Margeret Sanger whio founded Planned Parenthood wasn't a Eugenicist. read David Rockefellor's autobiography and tell me that i'm lying. listen to A. Huxley's discription of the "coming scientific dictatorship" in his speach at Cal State Berkley in 1961.

it's easy to be ignorant, just stop thinking for yourself and do what the "experts" tell you.....

Planned parenthood is about the destruction of family. family is the human trait that can save us all. eugenicists that think that they are homo superior and are best suited to control breeding and which genes are important and worth saving and which bloodlines need to be extinguished, are traitors to humanity. they are arrogant, foolish and wicked beyond belief to think that they have the right and the knowledge to manipulate humanity into a master race, and a slave race to be managed like cattle. these are the clearly stated aims and goals of eugenics.

planned parenthood is doing great work of encouraging the cause of eugenics with a happy face, so for haters of humanity, planned parenthood is angelic.

Studies show educated and affluent people are much more likely to use birth control. What kind of eugenics is this? That's like reverse eugenics.

Is your solution to have everyone living in poverty and on a starvation diet? Living people are important. People who don't yet exist at not.
