The World's Largest Riverboat

Post by dawman »

I was saddened to find out in my old bandleaders book that this monstrous fierce beast, has been turned into a shopping mall?

It was a definately a FAT BASTARD.

3000 capacity dance floor on the lower deck, 750 capacity for the upstairs rock & roll club, and 150 for the top deck where the steam Callioppe was located.

I would have to play Hogans Heroes theme song and silly stuff like that as it was only a 47 note, metal keyyed behemoth. Talk about shitty action, that's why when people ask if the action on my KS88's is good, of course it is, look at what I had to play sometimes.

I really miss playing with an 11 piece horn section and fantastic musicians, especially the bassist Dean Kresyman, and even Dave Weckyl on drums at times.

These VSTi and sample based horns all sound good if mixed properly, but when you have worked with the real thing, it pales in comparison.

Someday I wish to have the opportunity to do this again.
