Colenel Sanders Extra Crispy Crumbs w / Cole Slaw

Post by dawman »

This is a first for me, but while I was in the south last fall, I had a sandwich that was so good, I couldn't believe the ingredients.

They called it a southern hot and cold.

It was shredded BBQ'd pork ( very spicy ) on one bun, then creamy cole slaw on the other. I thought it was really good and bought this joint's recipe book of southern style delicacies. Cajun Escargot was really tasty also, instead of Pernoud Liquer it had Black Sambucca from Italy.

But since I am Scoped out 4 a couple of days I bought a big 16 piece family meal w/ 4 side dishes. 2 Ceaser's, cole slaw, and a macoroni w/ cheese.
These are all good by themselves, but I remember the recipe that I thought was comical, economical, and ecological all in one.

It was all of those tasty pieces of XTra crispy batter that lay in the bottom of the barrel, re-heated, and dumped into the cole slaw.

It's awesome !!

For anyone stateside that throws away their scraps at the bottom of the barrel, this is a great twist, and it is suprisingly tasty.

I wish my Brotha's in Europe could taste this redneck treat.
