n00b all over again.
n00b all over again.
I got my first of 2 cards, and all my keys from ralph.
the default project loads fine but most of the synths are missing "TINY SINE DSP" or "2CF R5 DSP"
this is an install of scope 4, which is all this card is licenced for atm. i downloaded one of the synths that was missing the file and installed it again (sb404)
looked in the unzipped install folders.
anything else to try?

Or possibly this link might give you an idea. Best of luck

well i had copied the unzipped folder onto the scope machines shared folder.so it was on the same drive.garyb wrote:if you put the downloaded file on the target hd(like the desktop) and install from there, this problem doesn't happen. it's something that happens when installed off of cd(at least in my experience)...
our computers are to fast for the installer

You're welcome, makes me happy to think it's turned out to be useful to some (even if it is only a batch file)Neutron wrote:aha so some files have wrong attribute on copying, thanks that fixed it..
whoever made that batch file thanks

I really think this is at the base of the issue. On win98 things always happened in order, anything that was outside of a given process that occured actually 'interrupted' the process (preemptive multitasking). NT uses symmetric multitasking where things are still given 'time slices' on the cpu even while other processes are using resources. So certain things like file operations can actually occur out of the order they're specified, meaning the installer might go to unset (or set) certain flags on files and some of the files might not yet be in place even though the installer has moved on (assuming it hands over file operations to the OS).Neutron wrote:well i had copied the unzipped folder onto the scope machines shared folder.so it was on the same drive.

Could be wrong but it certainly 'seems' to be something akin to this.

So what you're saying is the events occur before they're supposed to, basically you have time machines, you both have in your hands the singular most important machines of humankind, and in the meantime you're talking about Windows 98.
Or maybe I didn't understand a word of what you just said ?

Now there, you're getting into quantum mechanics, multiverses ( who thought up that name ) and space-time continium and thus, Star Trek, and if you start talking about Star Trek, well you need to start another forum .So basically I'll stop my burblings. And being ever so British, I will, of course apologise for my delirious outbreak, sorry ........
