No offence hubird, you don't know what you're talking about.

freeze track and realtime timestretching, wasn't it?
yes, I confess, I regret the freeze function, at the same time I seem to be able to keep the number of tracks and fx in the right order, so I don't miss it so far.
Excluding these two points I indeed don't know what I'm talking about :-D
I doubt I should have sleepless nights about that tho :-)

You guys are neglecting something very important. Cubase 4.1 sounds better than Cubase SX 3. This is rather obvious to me.

a page from the cubase forums posted in another thread which shows that the 4.1 problems are not related to Scope cards or poor asio implementation by Creamware or SonicCore:
http://forum.cubase.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=82878

i haven't tried 4. i'm still on SX3, but i know someone who is using 4 without problems. i'm not sure if he's tried the 4.1 update, but i suspect that even if he has, he doesn't have a problem because he's always at 44.1k...

Hi,

Since Sx, there is only a partial compability vith vst 5.1 project. So you'll have to go through a lot of editing if you want to keep your old projects. You will have to learn a rather large number of new things (not exactly as it was in VST 5.1) and taken Steinberg last behaviour (no update to SX3) ... you never had a better opportunity for a crossgrade imho ;-)

cheers

I use 44.1 KHZ also. It's not the fastest computer.

Even if it's hard to compare whats been and what is.
There is a new engine, for sure, but also the new VST3 "protocol".

Cubase 4.02 and probably 4.03 (never used it) runs great with Scope.
So do 4.1 if you keep it 44.1kHz
- change samplerate and PANG
