Setting up SCOPE on a New Computer

Post by mausmuso »

Hi There,
I have just built my new computer (Quad Core, 4 Gb Ram and all that).
I am now thinking about how best to setup SCOPE. I have two cards (SCOPE Pro and a Pulsar 2)
Loading 4.5 and all keys is no real issue, but is there a prefered way for moving all the wonderful free devices I loaded from PZ,?
Also moving the myriad of presets I have saved for all sorts of devices? and then there is Modular 1 and 2, Flexor, etc, etc.
I have the original disk from the old machine in tact that I can access.
Has anyone dealt with this issue?
It may be as simple as copy over the top of the new install?
I am especially conerned about the presets, I save heaps. I know there are techniques for loading new presets, but can I do it as a bulk copy and overwrite. Does this bring issues?
Any advice would be useful, can wait to get the machine up and running.

before doing a re-install (me hardly ever btw) I always make a backup of folders Apps, and Presets (I'm not at my DAW, maybe I forget one).
Anyway, every folder which contains personal edits should be backuped.
I have my own system of Devices menu's, with a separate menu for 3rd party plugins, with all adequat subfolders for every type of fx.
I don't wanne got that one lost, but of course there are more folders in that directory which should be backuped to keep all devices working (dsp, bin, etc.) :-)
All presets are in the presets folder, no reason to keep the new ones apart.
