Hi
I had an M-Audio Audiophile firewire interface which clashed with Scope.
Once the M Audio was installed, the Scope I/O disappeared from all sequencer menus, which I did not want to happen!
I sold that.
Now I am looking at the Alesis IO14 which has FW interface; does anyone know if (or why) these clashes happen? Wil it also happen to the Alesis IO14?
About the Alesis - can it be used just as a mixer, and take the output by spdif into Scope? I iwll ask them directly but anyone know here?
(Since I am buying these things for a laptop mainly, I want some mor einput to my P2 card, so spdif is fine).
firewire interface and scope
I dont quite undestand how the m-audio didn't come up in the menu I've got a tascam fw 1884 and scope both on cubase sx3 and they both come up in the device setup.Obviously I have to choose between either the scope asio or the fw 1884 driver but they still come up in the device choices

Yes I know where it was supposed to come up - the Scope ones vanished, replaced by the MAudio ones. I had to remove the MAudio drivers and reinstall Scope to get them back. I did a thread about this when it happened. I don't think we Scopers are using MAudio products.
But if Tascam works ok maybe I will spend a bit more and get that - it was on my original list. It does ADAT both ways too.
Perhaps it is an MAudio glitch. Without buying the Alesis it is impossible to tell.
Thanks for the tip re Tascam!
