Glasses Not Strong Enough? Lie On The Test

Post by braincell »

I'm about to get new glasses because my old ones broke but this time I am not going to tell the truth. My vision is fine in the day but I have bad night vision. I notice when I get my eyes tested that there is only one test. No test for night vision. Last time, I asked my doctor for stronger glasses and he told me by law he can not do that so I have decided to lie on the test. I can make out the last letter usually but just barely and my guess is right. This time I am going to guess wrong heheh.

this is nonsense, Braincell.
a stronger diffraction of the glasses will not improve your night sight at all.
if you can read the letters at daylight, the lens is just right.

it remains optically correct(!) in dim light - but possibly the sensors in the eye (retina) may have a lower performance at those conditions.

cheers, Tom

And if you drive at night and crash i wonder what would happen if the insurers found out you had the wrong prescription.

theres a reason why "all cats are grey at night", and it has nothing to do with lenses.

I just need it a little stronger. If it is more powerful than you need, it weakens your eyes which is why they can't give them to you but I only use them when driving at night which is rare so there is hardly a danger of weakening my eyes.
