ISON is a quality investment in your system, you get a lot with it :-)
from the manual:
The 'ISON mono' plug-in included with your purchase uses roughly half the DSP of the ISON (stereo) so use it on vocals etc.
As an alternative, the 'ISON Trakker' also included is a cut down version of the ISON designed specifically for
big mixdowns and uses less system RAM and DSP due to it's elimination of the EQ curve display, ghost curves and it's
reduced number of HP&LP filter stages.

and also:
The ISON cleverly unloads DSP power when any EQ stage is not
being used so make sure you turn off unused bands to reduce
the load on your Creamware DSP cards.

Personally I'm not a fan of the GUI so much, but at least you have two options (faders/knobs), but the graphic Curve Display is fantastic, and everything works well anyway.
There's no more-complete EQ anyway :-)

Essential for me to buy the plugin were the different EQ modes, the 'decramping' effect in order to keep the ends of the EQ under controll, and its option to compensate for the usual 'overshoot' effect at the 'anchor points' of the shelves modes.

If mony is an issue there are enough cheaper solutions for the platform, and don't underestimate the stock Lowcut and Hi cut eqs.
Or wait for some nice Xmas offers ;-)

well, simon is probably the only true fan of that gui :). I would favour the sonnox design here over the ison...
but the fader option helps a lot, indeed.

he didn't even respond to my comment on the gui... :)
but in the end the inner values will sell the ison, won't they?
