Hello to you all!

I have just got a new system up and running:
P4T-E
1.8 north wood
512meg rimms
Pulsar II
win98se
Logic 4.8

My main concearn is that I cant go any higher than the slowest ULLI setting - which is no better than my old AMD system.

I was just wondering if anybody has any cinfig info/tips for me (such as IRQ/MOBO settings)......please!

Thanx in advance to you all

On the same system, I can get a usable 4ms latency, and 3ms(1ms@96khz) is nealy usable, but takes too much CPU.

Ahh - just the man!!

I set my windows 98se config according to the info on your website.

The system.ini stuff actually seemed to make the breakup of the audio worse.

I have my virtual memory set to 1gb (I have 512bm installed). I have also set my Pulsar to IRQ 10 in slot 2 (slot 3, which I was advised to use seems to be shared with USB).

To test my ULLI i just loaded an old soung into Logic and hit play to check to see if there were any crackles. On my 30gb IDE Baracuda (partitioned in half) the track would not even play on the lowest ULLI setting. Once I transfered the song to my IBM SCSI (7200) drive, I could play the song but only at the lowest ULLI setting.

I am now really confused and just want to get the computer back into the studio to make some music.......booo, hooooo!

More help from the mighty Subhuman would be legendry!

Nice one!

i read somewhere that the thing about p4t-e sharing slot 3 with USB is a misprint. try slot 3 anyways.

No its true I think!

When I put my card into slot 3 and set the IRQ to 10 (or whatever) there is always a USB thing sharing with it.

Also, this may be stupid of me but......
How do you read the IRQ table?

What are INT-A to INT-F, and whit is the dif. between a shared slot and a used slot?

Laterz;)

i don't know what is problem if you have pulsar on #5 irq?!
if you set pulsar to #9 irq how to avoid sharing with SCI IRQ used by ACPI bus?

I've just helped one of my friend to instal and configure Luna on a P4T-E, and after reading this IRQ chart, i would certainly put my luna in Slot1 or 5... But not 3... nor 4, may i'd keep the slot2 for SCSI....

you cant really, irq 9 is linked with irq 2, thats how they got the other 8 irqs way back when. i use irq 5 but it is supposedly low priority, but the only other thing that is not disabled on my pci bus is network card which is on irq7, lowest of all.
