Nicotine plasters are great for international flights ..I was amazed the first time I used them ,but my problem is really that I like smoking ..it's not just the nicotine craving .
To highlight the madness ....about 5 years ago I was on a long tour through Oz with a bunch of old rockers who were old enough to know better and in The Rod Laver Stadium in Melbourne, in the bad boys dressing room , that was the one the one with the deep haze hiding the opposite wall , just outside the showers were two signs on the wall.... NO SMOKING and also a small wall mounted bin with a sign saying "used needles in here" :o
I've never really got my head around that
Hey Jimmy... my stepson did Bhagdad and some unidentified shithole in Afghanistan . He wasn't a very happy boy when he came home from Iraq but he got over it and now he's left the army and doing nicely as a civilian ,thank christ for that . If he'd been hurt over there it would have been all my fault ...I was the one who said to his [very pacifist and anti authoritarian] mother about 15 years ago
" for gods sake let him join the army.... at least he knows what he wants to do "
that was when things were relatively quiet for the oz army .

That'sWhen My Boy Signed Up Also,
He was in Afghanstan for 4 1/2 years. He volunteered. My heart sank when he left for Baghram, but everytime I heard his voice I was filled with pride, guilt, and other mixed emotions.

I prayed alot in those days. I am glad he is home.

He is an incredible pilot from what I've heard from his wingman and other comrades. He was going to go to Italy to learn and qualify in the Osprey ( tilt rotor airctaft ), but the private sector and pay was a no brainer. Plus my daughter in law is a beautiful girl from Florence Italy, and she convinced him that his children and her should be the choice and the future. I thank her everytime we speak. When you are so proud of your service, and the cause it stands for, pride can be strong deterrent. He passed on Iraq thank God. Our boys shouldn't be fighting that fight anymore, it's up to the Arabs that come from there to continue it. Afterall, It's Iran they fighting now, not some little neighborhhod gang.

i think those were the legal aliens.

American Indians and other native people were definitely illegal, not sure about aliens, though...

well, it was all blessed by the pope, so while it may not have been moral, it was legal. so ruled the supreme court in 1856 or so....

the original papal document was "inter catera" from 1452 or there abouts...

the thing is, the country is here now, and no country can support a totally open border, not even germany. hmm, mexico is a german colony(yeah, they speak spanish, but the culture has a lot of german and all the highest level guys have blond hair and blue eyes, and there are many fine lagers brewed there.. :P ), so maybe mexicans can emigrate to germany since their leaders don't want the natives to enjoy any of the richest country in the world's wealth(yes, mexico is unbelievably wealthy. they have plenty of everything there. just none for the common man)....

it's messed up everywhere, just some have it nice so they don't notice... :)

Funny you mentioned that.

The couple of German ancestry that I know from there speak English, and Spanish.

They have definately been afforded the finest education here , and returned to Mexico to flourish. His son has already started his own contracting business in the corrupt trade unions there, and has grossed well over 100 million in the last 12 years. His wife is also blond haired and blue eyes.

When I visited my friends there 4 years ago, the ratio of poor versus rich is astounding. Huge Haciendas , and ranches are outside of the poverty areas, where all of their workers live.

That country is ripe for a revolution, I can't understand how the upper class there can continue ruling w/o any concerns. The Mexican people are for the most part devout Catholics, so the thought of Socialism, or Communism is damn near a sin to them.

Many of my friends that have a legal status go home after selling their houses here, and are to be considered rich upon their arrival back to Mexico.

They deserve it they worked hard and played by the rules. Besides the whites, and blacks no longer consider the trade unions wages sufficient. $40 - 50 USD per hour w/o adding in the massive overtime that's common in Las Vegas is about 70-90 thousand take home a year. Take that to Mexico and live like Royalty. If they had anything that came remotely close to Lake Tahoe, I'd be gone in a New York minute.
