Second Life

Anyone in here use Second Life? The first couple of times I thought it sucked but now I love it. I'm not ready to get a paid account or buy land though. I'm making a Creamware Modular synth in it.

I still don't understand how the media made it into a huge phenomenon. VR happens once every few years, and fades away. remember alphaworld? I didn't expect you out of everyone would find it interesting. I'm curious as to how you see it as I'm sort of in the internet business.

It's actually not that huge. Linden Labs counts anyone who has ever tried Second Life as one of their citizens, even if they used it for a few minutes and decided that they hate it. That is the figure the media quotes. There are actually only 37,000 people on at any one time. Most of the islands are empty or have a couple people on them and 99% of the stores are lucky if they break even on their $4.00 a month (USD) rent.
