Next American President?
Ron Paul will never make it, but I hope I have the PRIVILEDGE to vote for him.
I miss the old Americans that are all dying off right now. They were the reason we can have a debate. They were the greatest American generation since Washington and Revere. They were called upon to serve, and serve they did. I am honored to be a member of such a great family that served it's country in 2 World Wars, and even those little shitty wars we should have won, but let politicians lose for us.
If we abandon our constitution we will have spit upon the graves of so many brave and proud Americans who fought for the very freedom that some of us take for granted.
Capitalism will have it's losers, and it's winners. Simple economics. My old sound man who I paid 250 dollars a week back in 1979, has sold his company for millions. He was a middle class kid who chose to rise. He had no formal education, but a drive, and the freedom to choose his destiny.
I am surrounded by people who work hard and sucseed, it's that simple. The rich will always win, get over it. The middle class can go up, or down. The choice is theirs. At least in America we still can choose where our kids go to school, what they wear, and teach them the best things we pass down to them.
If anyone tries to tell me what I am going to do, I will choose to raise up arms and rebel. And I am a crack shot out to 300 meters with several different weapons. I prefer to mellow them out with a great Scope Project, but if provoked, this dog will hunt, and win.

if you want to keep to your beliefs regardless of the truth, you can do that too.

btw-Ron Paul is the current republican front runner, and the only candidate who can beat Rupert Murdoch's favorite candidate, Hillary, assuming that the election results are not rigged.....

yes, but we're no different than anywhere else when it comes to corruption, which is the reason to limit government. it's much better to be more self reliant. of course, when 40-60% of one's labor goes to the lord of the land, it's hard not to be dependant...cut the "lord" out, and basic human charity will be sufficient for the few unfortunate. the rest will enjoy plenty and have no need to be "dog eat dog". this attitude is aberrant and psychopathic(no matter who exhibits it). in fact, this "dog eat dog"(survival of the fittest) world is the creation of aberrant psychopaths, so that makes sense....
life is always hard and dangerous, but we're making it way to hard by allowing the elite to guide us. the diference between America and other places(in theory, what they used to tell us in school) is that in America, the government is the "servant" of the people who live there and in other places, the government is the "authority" over the people. it is never explained who is doing the authorization. this is a subtle difference it's true between being a "subject" and an actual being, an "object". nice words, but because of corruption, the organization is not really working like that. the same people who make this the situation here, are the ones running everywhere else, so i know that everyone else here knows some way that their leaders have lied to them, or where there have been scandals, many of which are never resolved.
not everything is bad here. many things about the USA are fantastic and the proof is all the people who still like to come here. even in decline, this is quite a place, the same for anyone's home. still, only the naive think that polytricks is about goodness and truth.

I just wanted to comment this Lucky Luck talk:

In practice shooting or knife violence situations look very different: no place for tough hero feelings.
Only pain, body damage, life traumas, shocks, losses of beloveds, one year revalidation exercises,
never being able to play a keyboard, poor for the rest of your life without health insurance, etc.
Only losers, no winners.
Imaginary brandishing with guns looks nice but doesn't mean anything in practical life.
You're on the ground in a splitsecond, probably you won't see or recognize later your attacker, you will have a memory fall out, more woundeds
will occur, and all that for just some or the other looser who wanne steal a dime or something.
I mean: forget it playing a hero, that only happens in comics and movies.
You can only loose.
No offend tho

How many times in the past have you heard an American politician proclaim "This is the greatest country in the world"? I don't know how they can judge our country against the others when this is the only one they ever lived in. It's really arrogant and immature. America is not the center of the world. There are other people and we don't care about them, we only care about ourselves. Personally I am finding it increasing difficult to feel any kind of kinship with them just because I happen to have been born here. There are people in other nations living closer to where I live than some parts of the USA yet I am expected to feel a connection with fellow citizens simply because of some artificial boundaries created when the nation was taken by force from natives who lived here for millions of years before us?
I really hope one day there is a world government to moderate fantastics such As George W Bush and all the people who voted for him. There is too much power and too many weapons. We have some checks and balances within our government but there are no external checks and balances. No country can stop us from doing anything we want to do and that is why we can go around murdering people all over the world.

GWB is part of that world government!
hubird- why do you need expert assistance to commit suicide? if you are going to commit suicide(something that is NOT the business of the government), why do you need official sanction?
i don't think these arguments, which sound good on the surface, are too deeply thought out.....
thanks Gary
well, if there's no controll by some representant of the whole community, misabuse is probably.
Image a family and an old rich slightly demental aunt and a family doctor with gambling depths...
I'm not a film script writer, but it's easy to write a few hundred in a year
Anyway, you think a society can live without any gouvernment, I don't.
I saw a documentary on tellie about the fireman of 9/11.
They die in dozens as it seems, and don't get any support from US gouvernment or insurance companies, even have to prove they were at it.
I'd say, fight for a good democraticly controlled gouvernment based on servicing the people, all of them, not only those with the right skin color, connections or gunpower.
The alternative is the jungle, with the right of the fittest.
Exactly this was the situation at the start of what's called America now.
I don't feel any need to bash your GREAT country, but it was this situation that led to the genocide of the original habitants and the slavery labour army for which the Dutch (my ancestors) delevered the victoms...

braincell-
why is the public so ignorant?
you know how people in the late 1800's went on to found huge corporations with only a 6th grade education? well, in the 1890's a 6th grade education was the equivalent of a masters. one would have known geometry, civics, latin, history, and read and wrote at college level. go ahead and read books from then and see how rich the language was compared to today!
there are actually documents saying that the public is too well educated and needs to be "dumbed down". the people who wrote that are the ones behind world government.

Yes, the math was very advanced:garyb wrote: you know how people in the late 1800's went on to found huge corporations with only a 6th grade education? well, in the 1890's a 6th grade education was the equivalent of a masters. one would have known geometry, civics, latin, history, and read and wrote at college level. go ahead and read books from then and see how rich the language was compared to today!

And they had plenty of "resources":

and "modern facilities":

hello Bingo!
an abacus is a very advanced instrument. if we are to believe what we are told, the chinese ran an area much larger than the united states with them.
i know that you know what higher math is. calculus was around long before calculators as was geometry. i know because when i was in jr high school(middle school in unesco speak) pocket calculators had justy been invented and when i was in high shool, there was much debate about the ethics of using them. now, "stupid"(only becuase they don't know anything else) people can't imagine life without them.......
..and just because those people lived simply, doesn't make them ignorant or stupid. nor does it indicate the quality of the lives they lived. in fact many people today who live very sophisticated lives are very ignorant as well as stupid and live lives of extremely poor quality, so poor that they require tranquilizers to make it through the day, and the right to suicide.
the whole arguement of those photos(although humorous
) is disingenuous. are those particular people "settlers", city people and farming peopel from the east who moved west to rough it on their own away from banks, for a chance at having their own lives? where those people peasants who live in "civilized" lands, but live poorly because the "Lord" of the land only allows subsistance living and takes any excess as "tax"? were they just simple people who had all they needed and really were conent and easy in their lives(there's an old man in the picture, so maybe so..), just like many people who still live simply even today, even knowing about the city nearby?

i agree, but when did i say anything about that? it's a fact that people today are less educated than ever as a whole(not speaking about some specialty) in the united states. it's a fact that there are policy papers written be the leading eugenics figures around the turn of the century saying that americans need to be stupified.braincell wrote:Well Gary, The problem is that a good education involves more than just reading writing and arithmetic and trivial history dates. Maybe you went to public school so you don't understand this.
i'm talking about why education is so bad. it's not "money", "republicans", "bad teachers" or any other boogieman. it's an in-your-face system, run by in-your-face forces.
no matter where you go, people roll their eyes about politicians and say that it's corrupt at the top, and yet......it's always to the top that people look for their help and protection. ain't gonna happen. corruption won't save you, can't save you, doesn't even want to save you..
