I have the possibility of become a proud owner of a Juno 60+midi DCB or of a Juno 106... what Juno you think is better?
(both are mint condition)
Some people says that Juno 60 sound better and some people says that is better the 106 because midi implementation, etc.
I can't try these toys 1:1 because different sellers/locations.
Any comment about that are welcome
Thanks in advance.

The 6 & 60 both have a really really lush chorus that the 106 doesn't have. The only downside to the 60 is that (like many old poly synths) it WILL be expensive to repair when voices start dropping out because a filter chip or whatever goes. There's no way to tell when that could happen either, so just remember that most of those old Roland poly synths have a filter for every voice which includes an out of production filter chip.
I thought it was a different chorus based on what a synth collector told me, but If I'm wrong please excuse the misinformation ! Hey, maybe this collector was just tripping about why his 60 sounded better than his 106?
It sounds pretty similar to the chorus on the 6/60 but I definitely haven't A/B'ed them so I gotta say I'm not sure on this one! It definitely sounds very nice although it's *extremely* noisy. I think there might be other reasons under the hood why the 6/60 sound better than the 106.
the 60 and 106 definitely sound a little different. they're both pretty darned cool. the 106 is pretty cool for having midi. i prefer the 106....no the 60....no i....aaaaaaarrrrghhhhhhhh....
Thanks, maybe I will take the Juno 60 because the MIDI box expansion, so with this it becomes like a 106 but with his fabulous chorus and arpeggiator (!).
The DCB box from Kenton fetures also the midi sync output to syncronize the Juno 60 (and his arpeggiator) to the sequencer.
What a hard choice!!!

The Ju60 has the better sounding filters. The main reason why the 106 has gained more popularity is the built-in MIDI and maybe the bigger preset memory. Straight down soundwise, the 60 beats the 106, no doubt about it.
