Problem with Scope and Adobe Audition 2.0
XTC mode is used when working without SFP routing window is preferred .
Most of the CW gear works like VST tools and instruments, if used in XTC mode.
That message is normally displayed whatever VST host you gonna use.
It warns you that SFP is running and the CW gear have to be used inside the routing windows. It means: CW gear not available in XTC mode.
I actually don't know how Adobe Audition works, but for sure you must have ASIO or Wav source and destination modules in your SFP project window if you won't work in XTC mode.
Have a look at the Garyb post in this thread for an overview of the whole thing.

I just had a quick look at the main Audition features and at your previous posts.
Now I'm sure Audition does support ASIO drivers, so, have you selected ASIO Scope as default driver in Audition?
Since you were using an M-Audio before, the default ASIO driver you currently have set doesn't work with Scope.

WAV modules are the interface for Windows applications that don't use ASIO .
The ASIO DEST module is the input interface for Audition (or other Asio host). Everything you wanna send into Audition has to be connected there.
Have a look at this thread for an overview of the whole thing. Can open you the door to the Scope world.
I reccomend you to carefully read the manual and the whole documentation concerning SFP and Audition.
This will avoid you to stop your work for long time whenever you will run into any difficult.
