Exceeding Board Capacity

Post by mausmuso »

Hi Guys,
I have two boards Pulsar 2 and a Scope Professional.
I had the Pulsar first so it is the first board.
My problem is I get capacity overruns using some devices, including the Minimax. It is obvious I have not run out of DSP.
I thought the problem was I had only one STDM cable, so I made a second one and it has made no difference.
I guess you will tell me that I should have the Scope card as my first card??
Some of the Devices like Minimax that are causing issues are registered both to the Pulsar and Scope cards, so I assume that is not the issue.
Any advice would be appreciated
Regards,

most likely the problem is how the dsp usage is allocated. with the small board first, it's more likely that when a large synth is loaded after several other devices are loaded, that the synth may be stradling the two cards, which creates timing errors. changing the load order might help as might doing the global reload of dsps. putting the big card first will probably be the best solution though. that'll make the chances of a device spanning both cards much less likely.

I just got a dsp overload error myself today on a small editing project with only BX digital Transient Designer and Vinco running...I have a Project and two 6 SRBs and the project is first in line.....
