SB404 question

I am wondering why, when I change a pattern I always get the first note of the previous pattern. This synth doesn't seem to switch on the 1. Also the manual says that it always plays the pattern to the end and then switches to the newly selected pattern but it seems to switch whenever i select a new pattern, not waiting for the old one to finish. Is this the way it works or am I missing something?

You need to start just before or at the start of a bar .
If you start at 10:1:002 - the first note will not play

I change notes at x:y:475 and pattern at x:y:470 if i want a note and pattern change at the next bar. (pattern before note)

I think the pattern will play to the end if no new commands tells otherwise.

thanks, I guess it's a precision thing
I was thinking it was more like the 808 drum machine where you can change the pattern once the new one starts playing and it will play through and then change after.
