Hi all,
Seem to be having a few issues trying to get my sequencer (Tracktion2) to sync to my VDAT via MTC.
Have got VRS configured as clock master to VDAT and have connected MIDI on VRS to sequencer dest module. I have also got Clock2Click synced with the VRS for reference purposes.
Tracktion starts when VDAT transport play is selected but is nowhere near sync'd to the Clock2Click output - the timing difference is also variable not just a fixed offset? Tracktion BPM matches C2C and frame rates are same (24fps).
I've tried comparing clock2click to Tracktion's click track, recorded into VDAT and compared it against Tracktion's click, recorded into Tracktion and compared it to Clock2Click and it's always out and always by a variable amount.
Am I doing something stupid?
Appreciate any help.
Simon
MTC Woes
I don't know Tracktion2, but it's never a good idea to sync an audio app to midi protocol. For example Cubase, using the ASIO2 modules, can be sync'ed directly to the digital clock coming from a certain output of the VRC, there is a specifical setting for this....now I can't recall the names well.
MIDI clock is drifting, not sample accurate and puts in serious trouble a slave app that should playback the audio files with sample accuracy. Have a look to the manuals of Traction to see if it's possible a sync to digital clock and of Scope on how to set it up.
I'm sorry I can't be more precise but I've never done it.
