Which Intel Board to buy

Post by AndrewTurnerAUS »

HI All,

I have two cards (Scope classic + SRB) and am looking to upgrade my PC to all new hardware. My system is only used as a DAW , no games or overclocking, just give me stability.

I am looking at an Intel board with a Core2 Duo processor. I also would like to add more DSP at some stage. So I need a system with 3 PCI slots. The current Intel models are

DG965WH
D945GNT
DG33FB
DG965RY
DP965LT
DQ963FX
D945PLRN

I have read in these forums that the D975XBX2 which only has 2 PCI slots is the MOST stable, if this is true I will sacrafice dsp for stability which is the most important thing.

Any thoughts.?

Cheers

i'd bet they all work. i'd look for prive/features and go from there.

i've had very good luck with
DG965RY
DP965LT

the LT board would probably be my first choice. it's cheap and good. the RY is a bit picky about memory, but is also cheap and stable. do a search on DG965RY memory....

i had the D975XBX and it rocks ! i have ordered the 965LT as i will add a 3rd board sooner or later... One of my friend has the 965Lt and evrything is great and stable... May be it is not worh it to spend too much money on the D975XBX.. don't if there is a great difference (except options f bios though). You can put for sure those memories : Corsair XMS2 and SuperTalent ones... Both memories tested with 2 soniccore boards...

Hope it helps...
