The STS sampler memory limit.

Post by lagoausente »

Anyone knows why the STS sampler cannot load above 700Mb on Ram, even when have enough RAM installed? Is any configuration problem, or an own limit of the STS sampler itself?

What do you mean exactly? The problem seems to be a common issue. I think it´s an unresolved dubt of many guys.
I have only one STS, and a mixer. Doesn´t matter if load one instrument above 700mb or if load diferent ones. The sampler can´t load above that. It retains the instruments loaded, but once you are in the limit, the "low memory" message appears, and unload the last instrument I tried.
Try yourself, just load any instruments and tell me if you can load 800 mb on your STS.

One question: I am just curious to know what you would like to do with a 700 MB file (it is just about one audio file...) ???

Just wanting to establish a world record or ?

not 700 audio file, 700 mb of samples.
For example, loading a instrument of 50 mb of size, and then more and more ... , or for example loading a piano instrument.
