Xubuntu + Linuxsampler + old PC = Giga Box

Post by kensuguro »

Been messing with Xubuntu lately, a streamlined linux flavor that only uses minimal resources. (variation of Ubuntu) Haven't checked out the audio apps yet, but it seems like Linuxsampler has got Giga3 compatibility down quite well. So, install this on an old PC with 1gig ram and a fast drive, and that seems like a good candidate for a dedicated Giga box. Too bad I don't have any Giga3 only libraries to try this out on.

I am asking around for old PCs to test this on though, and there seems to be quite a lot. (grin)
