Luna Problem, I'm lost....

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and Creamware, so I will start by saying hello.

The problem I'm having is this:
When running the Scope card along with Sonar 5 Producer and My M-Audio AudioPhile 192 my PC freezes up occationaly and all I can do is restart the PC to get out of it.........

Here are my spec and how the system is setup:
AMD 64 X2 Dual core 3800+
Asus A8N5X MOBO
4GB of PC3200 Ram
Sata and Ide Hard drives....
M-Audio AudioPhile 192
Creamware Luna 4.5 scope

I am running the Luna's Spdif outs to the M-Audio's Spdif in's and then back
The M-Audio is the master to the Luna. I am also running the MIDI out of my AudioPhile to the MIDI in of the Luna to controll its synths.

Any help is welcome and apreciated, I'm not sure if its settings or something hardware......

Why use both cards that way? The Luna is in many ways superior to the M-Audio.

Also, lockups like that are typically the result of resource conflicts. Right click on My Computer, Choose "Manage", go into task manager on the left pane, then when there in the top menu choose "View > Resources by Type". List your IRQ's and the devices they're assigned to for us to peruse. You might also want to in the meantime go into your BIOS and disable anything you're not using.

Not quite sure why I'm doing that yet, It seems to make the most sense to me...... I could just be causing more trouble I'll bet.
When I just installed that Creamware though I did have a problem.
In XTC mode I would set my latency in my sequencer (to 2ms) but when I would come back to it the next day it would change(to 93ms).... Weird.

Here is that list of IRQ's....... The ones with a * have a ? next to them.....

I notice my Creamware card and my NVIDIA card are on the same #(18 ) ......
Could that be the problem?

So far when the machine doesnt lockup it works realy nice as far as using the Socpe platform on its own along with Sonar and my M-Audio.... I guess thats why I'm using it that way....

Go into your BIOS on boot (there's a key, you might have to refer to your motherboard/pc manual if you have a logo during the boot process). Disable anything you don't need (serial, parallel etc). Also remember to disable that onboard sound device that windows seems to be seeing (or it might just be a game port on the m-audio, not sure).

Move the Creamware card into a different slot. Then go back into the same place in the MMC (where you're finding the device manager) and see what the Creamware card shares with now. Repeat until it either doesn't share with anything or it's sharing with something that doesn't seem to cause a problem.

Yes you have the creamware card sharing an IRQ with your video card. A very bad conflict.

I will try all of the above, I had a feeling that the video and creamware card was problem.

I moved the Luna to another slot and now the PCI IRQ's read as follows:

Does that look better all around?

I also went into the Bios and disabled com ports and serial ports and the onboard sound. Now they seem to have disapeared from the list thankfully.

I will read that XTC doc through.

If that still doesn't work you can try installing the 3.1b drivers for Scope (will still work with Scope 4.5 software). That fixed some crashing issues for me when using multiprocessing/APIC.

Actualy I had no issues at all until for some reason my Akai MPD16 kept crashing and blue screening my PC.......... oye!
