I just ordered a new Pc from ADK and I was wondering If I would need to get the upgrade to scope 4.5. The new Pc is a intel e6600 with 2 gigs of ram running on an asus p5w dh mobo. I Basically use my scope as a soundcard only and only use the sfp as a patchbay for various software so any of the dsp and synth/processor benefits of upgrading will be useless to me. I didn't know if the scope v4 problems with multiple processors extended to multicores.
thanks

Which version of Scope have you got currently and which card? V4.5 only really adds some devices and some tiny bugfixes (i believe), certainly nothing major over the free v4.0 in terms of drivers (free to certain Scope packages, that's why i ask).
I have a scope project card with the z link outs and an a16 with the version 4 software. Its been solid on my current system for years, but i remember reading in the documentation when i installed everything that there were issues with multiple processors.
there are a couple of dsp file updates, but 4.5 is almost the same as 4.0. the software package is very different, however. almost everybody gets several new devices with 4.5.
Which dsp-files? I remember once making a folder with the files not 100% identical between 4 and 4.5. I don't recall there being any dsp files in that folder? Maybe I am wrong. I also think I read somewhere on the CWA site or from a CWA representative, that there is no difference.
You can actually run 4.5 with just a 4 license. You just do not get the extra plug-ins. I do that on this internet-pc.
i don't know, i'm just repeating rumors. you"re correct, you can run 4.5 with a 4.0 license just without the extra plugins. the two are not identical though. 4.0 or 4.5 it doesn't matter that much, it's true unless you want the extra plugins...
