Cannot install driver in XP home. HELP PLEASE!

Post by sblevin »

Please GOD help me! Creamware won't 1) answer my emails, 2) recognize my hardware serials via the login/support page (even when the page itself isn't malfunctioning at their end).

I have a Pulsar 2 and a Pulsar2 SRB board. As Creamware wont even answer an email I really need help. I have tried to install the cards into a new computer running Windows XP home with SP 2 (all legal, no cracks or anything dodgy).

I can NOT get to "My Page" at the site as it refuses to accept my hardware serials as validation (even though I used to use this site often a few years ago), and I can't remember my ancient login details.

I used to run the old Pulsar V2 software, then upgraded to 3.X, then go t a free upgrade to Scope V4 (limited functionality that everyone got who bought certain cards). This all used to install fine - but without access to my "My Page" I cant see if anything new or updated is available.

My REAL PROBLEM! : )

When I try to install the Scope software (or the original 2.x disks I got) I get told that the "driver installation failed, please install manually" run around - then when I DO try to install the drivers via the "Sysytem -> Hardware -> update drivers BLAH BLAH BLAH" routine, it says I NEED TO INSTALL WINDOWS 95/98???? What? (Yes, I have Adaptec ASPI installed).

If I point directly to the /drivers//win2K/ blah.inf file, it just says no drivers were found for your hardware :(

For the love of God (all of them), what can I do?

Does someone know how to either get it installed under these conditions, or how to get Creamware to even answer ANY email sent from a customer who paid THOUSANDS of dollars for their (seemingly) abandonware?

I'm tired of being polite to them in e-mails (incase you thought by the tone of this post I have been anything other than VERY polite in my previous correspondence with them).

Thanks : (

Right first of all you need to get hold of the version 4 drivers, as version 2 only works on 95/98,that's why it says you have to install 95/98.

try therefore
ftp://ftp.creamware.de
Software/Scope family/scope 4.5 pc/Scope 4.5.rar or scope 4.0.zip
or seeing as you aleady have a version 4 cd or have downloaded the directory point the driver there instead.

to install your cards on XP you must have a software version that was made for XP. What you need is version Scope 4.0 version.

versions earlier than 3.1 were made for 98/ME only

Also to run 4.0 you need to aquire a new sets of key codes to unlock 4.0 version.

on www.creamware.com it states that for keys you need to email info@creamware.com with your SN of the cards and a small request for keys.

if your cards has never been registered provide full name and address

then an allkey file is emailed within a reasonable time so you can import it during registration of Scope 4.0

where to get 4.0?

here:

software & drivers:
ftp://ftp.creamware.com/Software/Scope_ ... ope4.0_PC/

Manual:
ftp://ftp.creamware.com/Manuals/SCOPE/

note you can not install 4.0 without getting the proper key codes to unlock it.

ALL SN are 9 digits. and are located on the printed manual or the back of the card.

there is no need to send the key 0042 as it is meaningless as of version 3.1c.

hope this helps.

have you taken into consideration that your tons of emails never reached them ??? have you considered emailing from another address.

your emails may have been filtered out by the server. All this should be considered.

my last advise never be rude when you need help. it gets you no where.
if not permanently ignored.
