Didn't know where to post this one.
Logic is Platinum v4.8.1.
Well, first question is:
is it possible to make that "GM drums view" (made from Hyper View) instantly accessible for any selected drum sequence? How?
If I select this view, set it up and then close it, I have to do everything again...
Another one is:
Is there any Logic manual online?
I guess there'll be more questions later.
Thanks.
A couple of Logic questions.
Couldn't find the manual online. At least something on environment would be cool.
Ok, another couple (or more) of questions:
1. Is it intended or a bug that when I import a stereo (interleaved) wave file to my project, I can see both (right and left) channels waveform of the file only in a Sample Editor, while both Audio view and Arrange view show me only one waveform? Can I change it somehow?
2. When I'm "starting external sample editor" with a key command (tried with WaveLab and CoolEdit), after editing that audio file (selected in, e. g. Audio view in Logic) I cannot save it. Get something like "file is being in use by another application". What's the point of using that "external sample editor" from inside Logic then? Or I can fix it somehow? For example, in Sonar, when I call any audio editor (automatically shown in Sonar or Pro Audio "tools" menu) I edit the file (selection in Sonar), save it and get all the need it changes in Sonar. What about Logic?
3. I would never need CoolEdit if I had anything like it's Noise Reduction tool within Logic. I haven't figured out what "Silencer" Factory tool is, but it definitely doesn't get the noise profile to remove it from my audio later. Or am I wrong? Is there anything like CoolEdit's Noise Reduction in Logic?
4. How can I give actual NAMES to banks for MultiInstruments?
More questions to follow I guess.

No noiserecuction in Logic, but you can use plug-ins for that of all kind, but prefer using an additional waveeditor for that stuff, it wasn´t logics intention to back up your old records, I guess.
For a quickstart, try the logic tipps found @ http://www.memi.com .

Well, what about the answer to my question 2? I mean the question about how I can use an external editor from within Logic...On 2002-02-11 02:42, Zer wrote:

Thanks, but unfortunately ich sprehe deutsche nich (or how should it sound?)...For a quickstart, try the logic tipps found @ http://www.memi.com .

open the wave in your editor.(with logic closed)when finished, delete the .ovm file (to force logic to redraw the overveiw) and open logic.don't rename or trim the wav object in your outside editor.(a backup would be a good idea.that can be done in the drive window.just drag a copy to another folder or the desktop and rename as backup)
yeah, the reason not to trim is pretty obvious.trim and it won't line up right in logic.

Yes, it's all obvious way to get the result. But why the heck is there the Key Command INSIDE LOGIC called "run external sample editor"??? When I select a region (in Arrange view, Audio view or Sample Editor) and press the key bound to this Key Command, I have the corresponding audio file opened in my WaveLab or CoolEdit (whichever I assigned for that). I can edit it there without closing Logic. The only thing I can't do is to save the file. The question is:
What is that "open external sample editor" Key Command for if I can't use it anyway???
