I dont know if this featured in Euro media recently but a German girl has now flown higher in a paraglider than anyone else . She didn't mean to do it but she got herself sucked into a storm cell and was propelled to 9946 friggin metres ! Her glider stayed in one piece and kept flying even when she was quite understandably unconcious She woke up at 6900 metres covered in ice with all her rigging iced up and gradually got down to 5000 when she was able to get control of her hands back and spiral down . A Chinese guy got sucked into the same cell but unfortunately he didn't make it and his body has been found . Just to put it in perspective thats 1000 metres higher than Everest and in the area that 747's usually inhabit . The full story is in the Sydney Morning Herald Feb. 17th/18th . :o

Brotha' Man SKWAWKs,
I am in Tahoe right now, and just below me is the Carson Valley. Here there is a city called Minden. Dozens of crazed Krauts ( Sorry, German guys ) come and fly gliders and do lots of aerodynamic experimentation. Lake Tahoe is quite high in altitude as well as 2000 feet deep so far too. But the cold air drifts west to east over the Sierra Mountains, causing some incredible turbulance. When you see people grabbing their seats when they go through it in a commercial flight, it's the guys / girls that smile and look out the window are usually heading there.

Sorry,
But to go up in the air w/o an engine, you have to be crazy. I have done a few jumps in ROTC @ Fort Bennong, GA. That was as close to taunting death as I care to get.
Guess you'd have to see 'em in action.

I'm sorry Hubrid but it is obvious that english is not your native language.
The word is closer to the word "nigger", words used by hateful racists...

Well it is far from that my friend. I have been called Kraut and Dago all of my life, and it has never offended me. I happen to have a rhetorical ancestrial tag that doesn't bother me, I hope it doesn't offend you. I will erase it if it does.

A friend sent me the linke to that story, quite incredible! Apparently, she was "fighting against hailstones the size of oranges" :o

Personally, I don't think she's crazy. Just got a lot more balls than most :)

It reminds me .. one of our great rugby league half backs here was sent of f last season for calling a linesman a F.....g C..t . One of our more colourful men about town said that if you dont say F..k and C..t you shouldn't be Allowed to play Rugby League :D

In Holland it's not allowed to insult a policeman.
So you risk summons (if that's the right word) if you name one a dog or a jerk.
However, a court decided last week that 'F*ck you' addressed to a policeman is allowed, as it can be seen as an exclamation, as an expression of one's own feelings.
Great :-D
Not sure about naming one 'Kraut' :-D

(btw. Bingo, what about the well accepted term 'Krautrock'? it's even to be concidered as a Beggar's name, isn't it?).

In the UK, a pregnant woman is allowed to pee in a Policeman's helmet (the tall boob-shaped ones) if she's desperate, FACT! :-D
