.oxe ?!?!

Post by srigi001 »

so i decided to take advantage of the christmas discounts and i spoiled myself with the mixer package 1 (finally no more STM 16/32) but the thing is im not sure how to install it.
i was sent to my mail my new allkeys.skf file and a link to the ftp page where i downloaded the Mixer_Package_1.oxe file...
what do i do now? shouldnt there be a *.dev somewhere?
cheers

within the SFP folder ther is a folder called OXE, if not create a new folder (within SFP dir) and name it OXE - then move the .oxe file you received into that folder.
Shutdown and restart SFP and it automatically installs

cheers, Tom

thanks for the rapid reply but im afraid nothing happened.
i didnt have an OXE folder so i created one and copied the *.oxe file into it, restarted sfp (even tried rebooting my machine) but nothing happened...
should i see a new menu somewhere? should an installation dialogue pop up or something?
thanks

well it should install and you should see it installing as you should say OK or yes and it will advise you to restart.

look and see if the OXE still there? (in the right path)

normally OXEs disppear after they are installed.

Same problem

Post by Flyerfred »

Hi everyone,

I have the same problem srigi001 had, but in my case still not solved.

I try to re install some devices on a new SFP installation, but putting the .oxe files in the oxe folder makes them disappear, but I am not prompted for installation at new SFP start, and I don't see the devices in the menu.

To be sure: which of these files should I install? I am running SFP v4.0.

Code: Select all

I normally shut scope down and then double click the oxe file to install any new plugins I purchase.

I closed Scope, and try to double click on the files. When I do this on a .oxe, I get an error popup from XP saying "access denied"... Any idea? My configuration is clean as it is a new PC with a fresh XP pro and Scope install...

Thanks

you place the OXE in the OXE folder.

you close Scope completely

you turn Scope on

the OXE installs

then you restart PC

make sure that the OXE you have is recent and not for versions older than 3.1C

older OXE's may not install under 4.5 or 4.0 or 3.1C

OXEs are here:

ftp://ftp.creamware.com/Software/Scope_ ... okeys_OXE/

if you have an old OXE then re-download a newer version.

Funny. I installed dynatube just by double clicking the oxe file. It's always worked for me.
