Creamware A8 w/ TOSLINK

Post by dawman »

When connecting TOSLINK cabling, what does the cable w/ the red beam represent, the input or output?

c'mon Jimmy I reckon you shouldv'e been able to figure that one out :-)

the red light is all the juicy data....the cable with the red light is the output, so you plug that into the input toslink socket

for the toslink sockets, the one with the red light is the output...

it's advised not to have a direct look into the beam, btw. you can hold a piece of paper near the toslink socket to see if turns red. if so, bang, you found the sending end :)

Sorry guys, it was the power supply that was tweaking. I have it fixed now. Sometimes I get stumped on the most easiest problems. I was nervous, because the LED was switching back and forth from 44.1 to 48k and making this haneous switching sound so I disconnected everything and finally figured out it was voltage related.
