modular module: frequency splitter

Post by hifiboom »

I wish there would be some modules for frequency splitting.

For example a high and low band splitter with

1x audio in
-slider for split frequency
2 audio out for the filtered signals

there should be variations with 3,4 and 5 bands also....

would be nice for effects stuff like multiband distortions, etc.....

I know I can do this with the highpass, bandpass and lowpass stuff but its a bit complicated at all....

There's alfonso's XOver insert slot - freely self-insertable for multiband.

Not a module, though.

We need to make more modular modules, that much is certain. Lets wait till we see a list of the Flexor 2 modules before commiting to development of anything.

the Yamaha PB1 (bass preamp) I recently aquired has it all... :D

asym line out, symmetric line out,
Lowpass out, Highpass out , frequency and level adjustable
FX loop, headphone amp
a fixed frequency eq plus a parametric eq

damn, that was quality 10 years ago (?), a solid 19" box (could be 19 pounds either) with not the slightest emission of heat - got it for 80 Euro... :)

anyway, the frequency crossover is an excellent feature for a bass
as is the parametric band with adjustable frequency, Q and +/- gain behind the 'high-mid-low' - emphasis only type.

cheers, Tom

Maybe this could be a start for a modular module?

I know this and this is the exact replicant for the 2 band freq moular splitter

exactly.........

shouldn`t be too difficult...... to build the modular module, which will be really useful....

but its right, we have to wait for Flexor II, look and see whats available....
ther rest is here:
