I just started working with the sts3000 but what i don't understand are the preset menus. i know how the pool works, but what about the main preset list. that seems to only save the programs and their respective sample locations for quick reloads. my question is, if i have one program in slot one, say prophet, and i plan to make changes to say the filter, resonance, lfo, enevlopes ect. can i save those changes and recall them just as a preset, or do i have to save as a program. when i try to save a preset nothing happens, i have to store new changes to parameters as new programs.

You must save the sample program (= samples, envelopes, velocity layers, filters for that program, etc) if you want the changes you made to be saved.
