Error "Can't find DSP file Add 2N-Please check installa

Post by johnglynn »

Hi,

I am new to this forum and I have been using a single project in Scope for the past 4+ years. I have a Luna II setup with Cubase SX (1). My computer died this week and I am trying to set everything up on a new computer. The old setup worked great I did not need to go into scope for years. Now I am befuddled and can not remeber what I did to get things going. At this point I -have:

-Installed Luna hardware including Z-link, connected to my Mackie mixer
-Installed Scope 3.1
-Installed Cubase SX
-Set up a new project in Scope with sources and destination for ASIO and Z-link
-In Cubase ASIO driver is set to Scope | Clock source is Master | Direct play mixer output is set to Luna Z-link A destination

I get 2 errors when Cubase starts:
1 - Luna cannot be used XTC accelerator mode (shows up once as Cubase loads)
2 - Can't find DSP file Add 2N-Please check installation (shows up twice as Cubase loads)

My external IO seems to have no life where it used to turn on when I started Cubase. Please help if you can. I am not getting a signal in Cubase yet.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Cheers!

in SX in device manager

Asio Driver must show ASIO SCOPE

Clock source must be set to Sync to CW DSP Hardware

1-Luna cannot be used XTC accelerator mode

this is not an error this is simply an info message telling you that XTC is not available while in Scope Mode.

you get this because you installed XTC mode.

usually click OK and continue. If you don't use XTC mode simply go to the live bar and set and under setting uncheck enable XTC

the power on the Luna box if connected to the scope card will light up as soon as you have a Zlink source or Zlink destination present

drag and drop a Zlink destination or source you will notice the power light on the box becomes green

you need to make sure you treat this like real hardware. If it is present in the routing window and connected properly it should make sound

now if you playing tracks in SX and you need to send these to the box

Asio Source to Zlink destination will allow you to send the signal from SX to the box to outer gear (if you put a mixer in between you can monitor)

Zlink source to Asio destination will allow you to bring in signal from external gear via the box to record it in SX via Asio destination.

the dsp file should be in sfp(or scope)/app/dsp

is it there? if so, is it "read only"? if it's "read only", uncheck that. you can delete the copy there, and copy and paste from the install files also.

if it's not there(doubtful), copy it manually from the install files.

John
It seems that your system did not copy this file during installation.
check the installation CD and inside the folder add/ DSP look for the missing file and copy it into your Scope/APP/DSP folder.

BTW: are you runnig 3.1 or 3.1a or 3.1b or 3.1c? :)

the correct version is marked on the blue CD.

Edit: thanks Gary as always :)

I am still having no luck but am reading the manual and PDF today. I have attached an image of my scope setup. I have a source and destination present for both ASIO and Zlink but no lights on my Luna box.

In the meantim I when I try to run Cubase with Scope in the background I get a message saying that XTC can not run while creamware program is running.

The Add2N.dsp file was not included with the installation but copying it from the scope disc fixed that, thank you!

Thanks again, ok back to the manual...

If you want to use the SCOPE window rather than XTC mode then click on the little cross bottom left Enable XTC Mode. With it blank it should now work OK.

Ignore that last post. I am such a registered idiot! I knew it wasn't this hard the first time. Everything works fine, I had my Z-Link cable upside down in the card port. Doh! (I did not even think that was possible.

Thank you again for your time Ali, Gary and Mr Arkadin.
