pulsar II, nuendo 3 and surround

Post by fisaac »

hi to every body...
i'm sorry for my bad english, but i'll try to explane my problem...
i'll wish do the mixing of the new album of my band in surround...
i founded some posts for the sfp routin... so i'll try to make the sfp like master and plug the digital wave in the spdif out.
how i can set the routing of nuendo 3 for the outputs?
each of the six outputs in a singel asio out and then to a surround mixer?

thanks a lot

Don't think you can use spdif out (it's only stereo - at least you need to encode the file first)

I'll explain the routing i'm using now - see pic.
6 first asio out is the 5.1 mix from Cubase (L, R, C, Lfe, Ls & Rs)
(please overlook the ducker, as this i s a video project)

You don't need to use a mixer, but here i use STM16S
Keep in mind, the output of the STM16S is NOT in the same order as Cubsae/Nuendo. (STM16S uses L, C, R, Ls, Rs & Lfe)

From the mixer:
To speakers (ADAT DEST)
To headphone (downmix via micromixer)
To record surroundmix (VDAT or asio dest for record surround mix back to Nuendo)

Nuendo/Cubase: i ASIO pr channel (L = ASIO1L, R = ASIO1R, C = ASIO2L etc

All 6 monofiles from the mix, needs to be at the same lenght before encoding to ac3 or dts
