Hi all,
I feel pretty bad asking this, but I went through a lot of topics in the forum and didn't find proper help.
As I'm really new to all the DSP stuff it might seem obvious to some of you - stilll for me its all new, so please don't blame me for asking lame questions:
I unwrapped the ScopeFX package 5 hours ago and was eager to start. As written in the read.me I updated the ASPI drivers and installed the driver from the CD. Then I installed the tripleDAT (whatever this is for) and yeah: NOTHING.
Although windows indentifies the card as pulsar2 and installed properly I don't get a simgle sound from the card. For regular applications I get a BadSoundDriver message, and Cubase tells me I can't switch to my card.
All onboard sound stuff that might interfere is turned off and properly uninstalled.
What do I need to do? I read a couple of posts that said you need to be running a special software before startig the sequencer. Where would I find that software, since it's not in the installation directory or anywhere else.
Secondly, correct me if I'm mistaken, when not used for the dedicated purpose of creating music, the ScopeFX should function as a regular stereo soundcard and thus be able to play music via winAmp, right???
I anybody would help me, it is grealy appreciated - but please bear in mind, though I know my way around the computer and cubase, I'm really new to this DSP stuff and need clear explanations.
Thanks TIM
can't get ScopeFX to work at all :( need deperately help !
You need to run sfp.exe, drag some proper drivers into the window, hook up the virtual cables. Don't close the program.
You will need to load a Wave source driver for playback through WinAmp, unless you can use ASIO.
If you want to run the card in XTC-mode (ScopeFX mode?) You will need to configure a project-file called XTCproject.pro to your own tastes.
Then you must run an ASIO-host application.
Default/example project-files are available.

yeah... it's working now...
at least the card itself... Here is what I had done wrong - stupid me:
On the driverCD there are two directories:
scopeFX
and
Scope
what I didn't know is the one is the driver, the other one the actual application.
Thanks for your help, I bet I'll be back with more questions, now it's running
