Greetings from India

Post by inDSP Frank »

Hello, dear SCOPE community,

I guess it is time to give you some interesting input…

Actually, while I was still somewhat involved in CreamWare, my main focus during the past two years has been building a R&D operation in India. And it has been going great – with lots of fun, a true adventure doing such a thing in a business environment like India :)

inDSP Audio Technologies (pronounce: india-sp) has been growing into an excellent team – and has already delivered good parts of the ASB product line to some of you. inDSP is independent from CreamWare and not affected by the current procedure, as we’re doing major projects for some other customers as well.

It’s in India where the majority of the “next big thing” is being engineered, and we certainly have you, our SCOPE community, in mind. To be frank, as we are also working on other (but not totally unrelated) projects, that new platform will still take a while to mature and replace a full SCOPE. But it has other talents which are really neat.

You will hear from us. Already at Musikmesse there will be two interesting new products, and more are to come still in 2007. We are engaging in some industry partnerships which will take care of our products to reach the market, and - more likely than not - CreamWare can restructure to be one of them.

Amazing that inDSP actually stayed a secret on PlanetZ, and I thank all those to whom I relayed the news already long ago, along with my request not to talk about it too openly.

I shall be back with updates eventually and plan to discuss some ideas with you, as my time allows.

In the meantime, please continue to enjoy your music, your friends at PlanetZ, and the SCOPE production tools – the show will go on.

I’m proud to be related to this community, and we’re working hard to meet your expectations.

All the best and a happy 2007!
From India, Frank

Open positions: 1+ yr experience in assembly programming of the Analog Devices SHARC or Blackfin DSPs

So it looks like the Shark chip will be replaced with the Blackfin chip (a 400MHz chip compared to 60MHz). :)

Say hello to our new friend :) :

(although that looks like a white fin to me  )

Blackfin Sounds Nice,
But smart newly developing companies profit more on older tech as in the 200MHz DSP's, which I'm sure are being blown out in large quantities, at wholesale minus 30% or so. That's great news. As I will milk my DAW's for every dime till the new day dawns.

Thank You Frank For Your News, Cleverly Disguised As Advice,
