My question deals with the Analog I/O inside my audio app(Sonar). If i open the program in XTC mode with SFP closed in the options menu where the list of drivers are i can see the analog I/O and can select them for use. If on the other hand i have SFP running and then start my app the only I/O's i have available are the ASIO.
I dont know if this is or is not a problem so please bear with me, I am still wrapping my head around SFP and adapting to its personality . I am just curious why the Analog I/O's are only showing when SFP is closed and why ASIO only shows when SFP is open.
whe you run sonar with sfp opened, it's normal that you are not using xtc mode, so you'll have to arrange the scope environment from the scope project window.
If you want to use analog output, you must connect an asio output to it, then in sonar use the corresponding asio output.
no, you can connect them directly, but using the mixer will be more flexable. when you monitor in scope mode, monitor the scope mixer not cubase. that will eliminate latency issues except with vstis.
think of scope as virtual reality. the routing window is the "room" that all your gear is in. this virtual room can connect to the real world via hardware i/o. sonar is a virtual multitrack deck that also records midi. you connect inside scope the same way as in the real world. the asio i/o are the audio jacks on your multitrack(just like sonar was a tape deck). the sequencer midi source and dest are the midi jacks on that deck. follow the signal flow the same way as with hardware and connect accordingly.
